I'm not sure .............
I saw Eric in 2013, I had front row seats , center section ........... and while I thoroughly enjoyed that and it was a thrill of a lifetime ..... he was at the start of becoming elderly. My only regret , was that I did not have front row center section seats 10 years before.
If he tours again, now at 71 yrs old .... I'm not sure what we are gonna get. I'd rather have the memory of a younger Eric , than an elderly Eric with no energy, just going through the motions.
And I say all of this, I'm 63 yrs old ............ I kinda get what this stage of life is becoming about.

You know when I first saw 'Slowhand at 70' I thought the same thing. I saw him waaaaaay back and have been following him ever since. Then I listened closer and found that one of the things I had hoped for the most was happening. Slowhand at 70 was not Clapton getting older, at least to me, but he was changing! So I started to figure out some of the lead breaks and I felt it even more. As far as I can tell he is experimenting with a different style. Yes Crossroads is classic Clapton but the rest of the show is some of the more original stuff I've heard him play in decades.
If you want a taste of the old Clapton at 70 check out the version of 'Pretending' with John Mayer that he played the night before or after I'm not sure. After Mayer's solo 'ol Slowhand shows there's no rust on him. I am loving the fact that a guy at 70 can still think about producing something different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N8C4wV74vrY
With Angelo Mysterioso on one track. So EC sifted through the archives.
