Topic: Rival Sons Wonder Ballroom 2-4-16

So, I've been waiting to see this band for a couple years now. Last time they came to Portland, they warmed up for Halestorm and I didn't want to pay to see them do a short set, so I had to wait for the headline show. Last night they played the Wonder Ballroom to a crowd of around 400. I just can't say enough "good things" about this show. Jay, the lead singer, is incredible. Strong voice with great range and a dynamic presence. Scott, the lead guitarist is also fantastic and has great and varying guitar style and tone. Mike, the drummer, is just awesome. The performance itself was perfect...Perfect sound, great set list...and by the way...these guys can write a catchy Rock tune....Best new band I've seen since GnR. Left the show with that giddy feeling and the realization that I will not miss these guys anytime soon !! Already looking forward to their next show !! Mount Holley, the warmup band, also from L.A. area, were great as well. Debut album comes out this summer.Here's the setlist

They are very high on my list of bands that I want to see.   Unfortunately, looking at their tour dates I'm not so sure that it's going to happen this year.  sad

Going to my first show in a few weeks in Portland Maine. From what I've been hearing Belle Starr is one of those songs your lucky to see

The whole set was incredible...These guys are "All Killer...No Filler"...!!

DAMN IT...... After much thought and because it was on a Monday  (Yes, I'm a ***%#) I blew off their San Fran show a few weeks ago.

They opened for Black Sabbath in Denver, CO and I hear they were really good.  Too bad they had to play at the Pepsi Center, the acoustics there are impossible.  So many great places to see a concert in Colorado I won't go to that venue even if it's someone I want to see.  Anyway, I digress, I'm sure my friends weren't the only ones impressed by Rival Sons, I bet they come back and headline.
