That the music will be freakin' awesome is a given. It's Joe! What this coffee-hound wants to know is, will there be a special package that includes a coffee mug?  big_smile

This one does: http://shop.jbonamassa.com/collections/ … te-package

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

I'd really love it if Joe's albums all came with a bonus DVD of the "making of" footage like the Beth Hart & BCC. I love watching the EPK.

I expect there'll be a couple more vids coming up in the next few weeks, like there was before the release of "Driving Towards The Daylight" and "Different Shades of Blue".

If this album is going to be as heavy as the video implies, then I cannot wait to get it.

Looks like you can pre-order direct from the record label as well, they are doing a vinyl version as well as the standard CD and DeLuxe, all with a free poster.

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

Hi folks, new to the forum and I come bearing gifts! Joe's SoundCloud has samples of all the songs from the new album.

'What I've Known For A Long Time' is on there in full, and 'Drive' seems to be the first single released on Amazon/iTunes. The wait for the album is a bit less painful now!

I think my favourites, based on what I've heard so far, will be 'Mountain Climbing' and 'The Valley Runs Low'. Interested to hear your thoughts. smile

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

^ Hello fellow Scot! lol.

Anyway, does this mean the next tour will be called "the desperation tour" haha! that would be sure to get the haters started!

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

Sorry, if this has already been asked, but what is the difference w/ the Deluxe Silver Edition of the CD, it seems that both cds have 11 songs, so not sure what the diff is?
Thanks!

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

the only thing it looks like is.. the packaging is sliver as listed on the pre-sale site.

limited edition version with silver packaging and an extended booklet.
The booklet includes exclusive photos from his vintage guitar collection with comments from Joe. Please note, this product is imported from Europe."

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

Sounds great! I love the heavier Led Zep type stuff. Can't wait for this one.

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

Huh.... so , listening to "What I've Known For A Very Long Time" , it has keyboards and winds.. seems like the power quartet thing is not the concept for the album but just for a handful of songs

The early records are the most boring ones.

You're kidding right? Well maybe not we each have our personal faves and that's cool too.

To this day my favorite Joe CD is A New Day Yesterday 'Studio' version.

Good call, ANDY is also my favorite album!

I'm broke, motherf**ker!

Not a fact or scientifically researched, but it seems that there is a large contingent of fans here who are wanting a real heavy "Zeppelin" style album if you know what I mean.
I see a lot of references to looking forward to some real "heavy" guitar.Or an I mistaken?

No mistake from my point of view! I love the bluesy stuff, but a full album of heavy stuff would be great. It sounds as if this album will have a mix of styles.
My favourite album is TBOJH as that had a good proportion of heavier tracks and the tone is unbelievable.

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

Sounds really Killer. Cool EPK.
Very like Mountain Climbing and the Title Track.
Livin' Easy not my cuppa. But an Album has to vary in terms of styles so.
Cannot wait to hear it complete and hope for some Bonus Tracks

Re: Blues Of Desperation Official EPK

A lot of us go back to Rockplast and think this is one of our favorites.  It's not that we don't love Joe's vision of the blues, people of my age, 64, were brought up with Led Zepplin, Cream, Hendrix, etc.  It wasn't until a few years later I discovered and loved bands like John Mayall, Butterfield Blues Band.  It wasn't until several years after that I started looking deeper into the Blues and found the music of Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, etc. While becoming a huge fan of the many different styles of the Blues, head and shoulders above every other type, Paige, Clapton, Mike Bloomfield will always be my favorite.
One of the many things I love about Joe is he encompasses the whole of the genre.  I have the Muddy Wolf Blu-Ray and love it, can't wait for the 3 Kings Blu-Ray to come out, but the timing seems about right for Joe to come out with something heavier.  That sound of a screaming guitar, the feed back...it got into my blood at an early age and I'll go to my grave listening  to it.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.
