Topic: Portland Maine Jan 16th Roll Call

I have to admit how quickly this show came up on me following the holidays!! Well for me personally it seems to have gone full circle. Merrill Auditorium was the first Joe show ever for me back in 2012 and in all honesty one of the best concerts I have ever been to period!! Front row center, Joe giving a guitar away to Jay's nephew, meeting Joe by the bus... well you get it. Unlike most shows though in witch I watch video's and get the set list I am going to go into this show completely blind!! So I will  catch up with everyone on 1/17!! CAN't WAIT!!!

Well I am so happy we decided to go to this show. We usually don't plan a lot in the winter because of weather, travel ect.. but with this being a limited run we didn't want to miss the opportunity to see it.
    The night started off on the right foot with the weather cooperating enough that we could get to the show all in one piece!! Also very funny seeing our fellow bona-buds Jay and Ron right as we walked in the doors!!
    As stated in a previous post I did not read, watch, or listen to ANYTHING about the show as I wanted it to be a complete surprise.. and surprised I was. Looking at the stage set up I thought it had such a theatrical look to it that I really didn't know what to expect. Well I was more than pleased as the night will be surely remembered for a long time. The band was terrific and Joe was spot on and again very funny in his "monologue".
    A few of the highlights for me were Dust Bowl, Song Of Yesterday, Blacklung Heartache and of course all of the new songs played. I have to admit I was very excited to see what the encore was going to be but never thought in a million years I would hear JB playing The Rose. I still don't know how I feel about that... don't get me wrong the song is a classic and sounded great but.............................
    Anyways thanks Joe for coming back to Portland and for having 2 "special" shows in Maine over the last few months(3 kings in Bangor). Well again good to see some familiar faces and we'll be sure to catch you down the road!!

The Rose took me by surprise too, was hoping for Sloe Gin and hoping for a 2 song encore. Did you get to take any pictures?
