Topic: Magic Strings of Frankie Presto - Novel by Mitch Albom

I have just started to turn the pages on this book and it is very good.  It will "strike a chord" to the musician or music lover in all of us here.  I'd be very interested to hear what The Man himself has to say about it.  It is written from the perspective of "music".  I mean "music" is a character and is telling the life story of Frankie Presto, an amazing guitarist and singer.  It also incorporates stories told from other artists Frankie has worked with over the years.  So far, 14 chapters in, and I can't wait to get back to it.

I am about 3/4 of the way through now and am still entertained.  A quick glance at Amazon's reviews and description might do it more justice than I can attempt to explain:

Enjoy!

Re: Magic Strings of Frankie Presto - Novel by Mitch Albom

I am a Mitch fan, I've read most of his books. I bought this for my husband for Christmas, because he is a guitar player. Its not the typical book he would normally read - I see its next in his pile though. I will be reading it for sure.

I seem to recall something about Mitch coming back to my area in New Jersey to play in a band that included one of my kids dermatologist. He attended Berklee in Boston and seems to hold both a journalism talent along with music.

.....annnd done.  It was quite a tale.  Well written and easy to glide through.  Albom creates some great characters and easily intertwines them with those from our world.  Good stuff.  Not to mention all the musicality woven throughout.  After reading this, I know Joe must have had both hands open and grabbing for the light that day in May of '77.
