Topic: Any word on Joe's "medical issue"

I was wondering if anyone had any info on Joe's "medical issue"....i.e. What was the issue? Has it been taken care of? Are any future dates possible cancellations? Any info would be appreciated....

Word is he is plagued with sinus infections so we are hoping it has something to do with this and will end up helping him for the future

Surely there are better ways to "educate" if that is what Kenny was doing...No offense but I don't know how you would know what Kenny was doing, scolding or educating.....I don't quite understand what "a time and a place and all that stuff...not here..." means...if not here, where?? I guess I just don't know where to ask a question about Joe Bonamassa...maybe I should go to another forum or what??? Please don't take this wrong but these are legitimate questions in my mind. Sorry if I offended anyone...I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers...just wanted to know more about someone I care about...I'm pretty sure there may be others here who would like to know the answers to my questions....I understand the privacy issues but Joe is a public personality. I have tickets for a performance in 8 days and would like to know so I can make some decisions as to cancelling my plans for a 400 mile trip to see RCFP....is that so wrong??

Personally, I have no problem with the question.  I would assume that the majority of us on this site not only care about Joe as a performer, but as a person.  His team goes out of their way to show his personal side with all the Blu-Rays they put out.  Again, personally, I love that stuff.  If it was just the music, yes I would be a fan, but, then you see the kind of man he is and it puts it on a whole other plane, for me.  I had scheduled a meet and greet at Joe's last show of the fall tour in Clearwater, Fl.  I was advised a few  in advance that Joe was still feeling the effects of the sickness he had in Europe and had to cancel the meet and greet.  I could care less about the meet and greet, I was concerned about Joe.  A question about Joe's over all health is totally appropriate IMHO on his web site.  Now if you wanted to know what type of suppository he uses for his hemorrhoids...that might be a little over the top, unless Roy could figure out away to get a endorsement contract out of Preparation H.  The last part was an attempt on my part to make a joke.  I have no personal knowledge, nor would I want that info.   Geesh!

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

If you want to beat this into the ground, be my guest.

However, Joe only indicated on Warren Haynes Christmas Jam cancellation that a "medical issue" needed addressing.  The fact that no further details were forthcoming more than less indicates a desire to keep the issue private. 

If Joe doesn't come out and tell us, or at least someone given permission to release details speaks to it, I feel (not saying I am correct) it must be a "wait and see" approach is presumably put into effect.

No offense was taken by myself. 

Show cancellations become apparent in due time. 

I personally never attempted speculation because I feel some unsubtantiated speculations, especially about health or personal relationships, can lead to misinterpretations, which can deteriorate to false information being passed along in a "gossip" style.

You can always ask him in person at the Baked Potato.  He will be there until you hear otherwise...

I did the meet and greet in New Orleans on November 24... Tuesday before Thanksgving.  He wasn't feeling well then and he even made the comment that his sinuses weren't right since he returned from Europe.  After Nee Orleans, he played Houston, Mobile, AL, then Clearwater FL.
I know he cancelled the meet and greets in Florida for the last two dates of the tour.  So I'm fairly certain he we just battling sinuses and most likely an infection. As a sinus sufferer myself I can attest that they make you feel like hell and suck the life and energy from you.  With the right antibiotics,,he's probably doing much better now.  I also know he cancelled the xmas jam too.  He obviously ran himself ragged and being sick, I don't know any performer that gave it all like he did in New Orleans.  After much needed rest and downtime I'm sure he'll be fine!

Don't worry. JB will do it.
He will be getting better otherwise he won't serve us so many nice twitter videos from his beautiful amps and guitars.
He will be in top form at the Baked Potato again.
I'm pretty sure. Cannot await the videos from some forum members as this gigs are always very special.
Unfortunately I have to work and have family otherwise I would fly out to LA from Germany.
Still hoping for a London Gig of RCFP or NYC Iridium again.

When we saw him at the Baked Potato last week at Paulie's gig he seemed healthy, happy and relaxed. It was just a quick hello so who knows how much you can ascertain from that and anything can happen between now and next Monday, but we will hope he remains in good spirits healthwise and otherwise. Everyone wants a healthy and happy Joe smile
