Topic: Joe's first London gig?

Found this on FB in a discussion regarding the Mr. Kyps show being the 10th anniversary of his first London show. Apparently Joe played a show at Beard's Blues prior to Mr. Kyps, as witnessed by Pete Feenstra, who wrote the following review smile

The Beard's Blues show looks to be part of the same first UK tour.  I believe the Mr Kyps show was on 18 May 2005 so the recent 10 year anniversary show was probably scheduled to fit in best with Joe's current touring schedule rather than any specific date.

I think a couple of forum buddies were at this first London show.

Looks like that show at Beards Blues took place on May 20th. I remember Joe saying the original show at Mr Kyps was May 18th, but as Lyn said it wouldn't work logistically to do the 10 year anniversary on that date. So they did it at the end of his UK tour this Fall instead.

  " To clear things finally up I looked into my JB tourbook from 2005..... 18.05. Mr. Kips/Bournemouth 19.05.Nottingham/Running Horse 20.05, Beards Blues/Tooting 21.05.Flowerpot/Derby 22.05 Rayers Hotel/Harrows.....like you see Mr. Kips was Joe`s 1st uk show......"

And from Pete Feenstra "  For those the astute blues-rock fans who noticed this blatant mistake and wrote into me and just for the record (and certainly my last comment on this subject),
Joe Bonamssa's first London and NOT UK show was in the hugely unfashionable Jack Beards (aka BEARDS BLUES CLUB) Tooting, SW17 on 20 May 2005.
Road manager Manni Küsters has kindlypointed out he did play Mr. kyps in Poole on 18/5/15 but this was not the date being celebrated last November and mentioned by BBC Radio 2 - that was 6 months later...It was THE GREEN MAN, BARNET Sun 22nd May 2005, not Rayners, which wasn't available, but I digress.
