Joe Bonamassa: Return to Mr Kyps
Paul Jones

An exclusive airing of a special live performance from blues superstar Joe Bonamassa recorded in the intimate setting of Mr Kyps in Poole 10 years after his first ever UK show there. In 2005 club owner Mark Kyprianou was approached by Joe, at that time a completely unknown American guitarist, who was keen to gain exposure in this country. Although Mark had faith in Joe's talent it was difficult to sell tickets with the result that only 100 people paid to see the show. Afterwards Joe promised Mark that he would be back one day - a promise he made good on this autumn. At the end of his latest sell out arena tour in November, Joe and his band returned to the 300 capacity club for an unforgettable evening and BBC Radio 2 was given exclusive access to capture the event.

Tune in and enjoy!
Merry Christmas everybody

Paul Jones has always been a blues fan and Joe supporter. Long may he continue. His programme is always worth a listen anyway. big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: JoeBo on the Beeb

I hope this means that a full pro-recording of this fabulous show will one day find it's way into Internet-land! I seriously don't think Joe has ever played better! Come on Joe - give all of us a nice Christmas present!
My only worry though is that BBC mixes are notoriously bad. I hope it was mixed by Joe's people and then given to the Beeb to play. smile

Re: JoeBo on the Beeb

Is there anybody going to record it? I would love to have a copy. I like the 2010 BBC show very much, even used it to convert people to Joe's music - I think that was mixed well.

No doubt it'll turn up on YouTube.

Re: JoeBo on the Beeb

it is a radio programme, not TV, - and the BBC because of they way they are funded guard their copyright very closely. Not sure if their clips are available to hear outside of the UK, - try this interview with Joe to test:

My YouTube channel with plenty of my Joe's videos dating from 2009 inc his first Hammersmith Odeon ones:

thanks for the info and links
i was not sure what the beeb meant, lol. guessed it was radio but thought maybe TV - some of us call the TV the boob tube so i thought beeb boob, maybe just an English thing/.....
those links take me to good looking pages but not getting it to work/. to be honest my computer is slow and slightly screwed up so not sure. will check later too

Hey Jane, the Beeb is what we affectionately* call the BBC ....  boob means something else over here big_smile

(off topic .... *but not anymore since they sold out F1 to channel 4 (harrumph))

The show should be available to listen again to for around 7 days after transmission but as Ian says not sure if it works outside the UK?

Re: JoeBo on the Beeb

Someone has to record it and put it on DIME or DropBox it to me

The Paul Jones show is only 1 hour long and Joe played for twice that, so you would only get an edited version of the show in any case.  As a dubious bonus you might get to hear soundbites from some of us in the queue if they need to fill airtime!  In the meantime you really can't beat Natasha or Pete's vids.
