Topic: Cardiff 27th October

I don't post a great deal on the forum but always enjoy reading what others have to say.

Thought I'd mention the absolutely thumping show at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena, which I think was the best of the 3 times I've seen Joe. It was great to see Joe with a different format - the band, set list and gear were all different, but all in a good way. It was Joe but it was fresh and interesting and the band seemed to enjoy every second, which speaks volumes considering the number of shows and frequency with which they play.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find an artist who'd put more effort and soul into a damp Tuesday night in Cardiff. Joe's playing seems to have found another gear since I saw him last, the intensity was immense but lots of light and shade, quiet parts and great live arrangements of familiar songs.

The standout songs for me were Ballad of John Henry and Love ain't a Love Song, which veered off into long jams that brought out the best in the band.

If you're seeing the band any time soon, you're in for a treat.

It was a stellar show and roll on tonight in Bournemouth.....

Re: Cardiff 27th October

Great time last night at the Cardiff gig. A somewhat shorter show with only one encore song. Now that Joe has said he is sick I wonder if he was feeling a bit tired last night and that's why it was slightly shorter. You certainly would never have known since he was playing with the same incredible intensity as always. Really don't know how he does it. The tour has been long this Fall and it amazes me how much energy he always seems to have. Same set list as in Nottingham. Nice to see a horn arrangement during "See See Baby". Added a nice element. We had 6th row smack in the center on the floor. Nice to be closer to the stage. A few heads in the way but not as bad as Leeds. Crowd was more lively tonight and Joe seemed to be enjoying himself. I filmed only a few songs and took some photos during the others.

Those videos are excellent, thank you !

Re: Cardiff 27th October

Don't get me wrong I am a massive Bonaholic but I was slightly disappointed in the set list. Seems JB is moving further towards the traditional blues format type music as apposed to the more 'can I say experimental'' Dustbowl and Driving Towards the Daylight. I would have loved to of heard just a few of the last album tracks as I was really hoping he would do Get Back My Tomorrow.

As already pointed out the level of performance was as always so professional. I assumed the lack of a 2nd encore was down to being un-well as he was sweating like Lee Evans. Just glad he didn't cancel this one.

Great pictures thanks!

Can't wait for next March to see again in Plymouth. At least I won't have to travel for this one and pay £6.50 to get across the border ha ha!

If JB was to play 'Get Back MY Tomorrow' I would be very happy smile
