Thank you so much Pete The Cabby and Natasha for sharing your captures!! As Michael summed up ... the small room intensity ... the videos show it!!

I can see Natasha & Phil front and center smiling wide in the Joe posted Facebook picture of the crowd (from the stage view) ... no need for a zoom for your captures!! big_smile

Thanks once again!

Cool that they ended up using some of my footage of John Henry at the beginning of that video smile

I uploaded the full 2 hour 10 minute show onto youtube if anyone is interested in viewing it as a full movie

Re: Mr Kyps Free UK Show

Natasha you are a hero and legend thanks. As is typical missed all the shows as I didn't return from the USA until yesterday. Must get Joe to do something about my college holidays always being the same time as his UK tours. Grrrr lol

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Mr Kyps Free UK Show

I hope - REEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY hope - that this special one off show will was recorded and will be made available as a download for the fans who were unlucky in their ticket winning. The youtube vids that have shown up are fabulous but a pro-recording would be wonderful. Joe was on fire!

I wish I could've been at the show! Thanks Natasha and Lester for posting the videos! I wish we had videos from his show in 2005 to compare the two shows. Any one have his 2005 set list? I searched on http://www.setlist.fm/ and only found 1 show in Germany in 2005. http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/joe-bonam … 40be6.html I assume that is what played at Mr. Kyps in 2005.

this was my info file, that includes the setlist, when I reposted my recording of the 2005 gig at Mr Kyps on Dime in 2013 ...

so dissapointed that I missed his welcome return 10 years on ... DOH!!!!!

.................

Notes:
Ticket price: £8.00 (adv) ... BARGAIN!!!!!

This old show of mine fell off the tracker some time ago & has recently been requested ... so here it is...

So it's now 7.5 years since the 1st time I first saw Joe live & recorded this 1st ever gig in the UK ... after this show I was well & trully hooked ... 'though recent ticket prices (!!! How Much !!!) have put me off going to see him on his last couple of UK tours.

This is a brand new mastering from my original JB3 wav file. It has turned out very nice and IMHO a wee bit nicer than my 1st go at it back in 2005. If you already have the original from 2005 then you must decide if you also need this latest version.

A great performance by this version of the band (with Eric Czar - Bass; Kenny Kramme - Drums) plus the fact that this was Joe's first ever English show make this a worthy addition to any collection (if you don't already have it).

For those interested - basic details of the new mastering applied to my original JB3 recording (using Wavelab6 & Har-Bal) are as follows:
(a) Left & Right channel EQ Matching
(b) EQ / Compression / Limiting (-0.6dB max)
(c) fade ins & outs
(d) track split

A note for any finicky audiophiles out there:
Mastering has been done to polish the raw master recording with the aim of enhancing the listening experience. If you prefer virgin recordings, unspoiled by any such amateur 'dabbling' then do not join in on this one. Be warned now ... I don't want any whinging! ;-)

But for the rest of you Dime'ers I recommend that you GO FOR THIS ONE ... you won't be disappointed!
I score the sound quality as 9 out of 10 ( = A- );
but hey! ... don't flame me if you don't agree ... & at least keep it friendly ;-)

If you have any comments, whether positive, negative or otherwise, I would love to read them ... don't be a lurker!

It was not professionally recorded. There were some people from the BBC filming parts for a TV segment which was shown in the  J&R newsletter, but other than that, the only footage is what Pete, and a couple other fans and I got.

For anyone who doesn't have a copy of my recording from Joe's 1st ever English gig (& there can't be many by now as it's all over the web (though mainly in mp3) .... including some with a $ price, much to my disappointment & anger!!!!), below is a WeTransfer link for you to be able to download my re-remaster from 2013 when I last posted it on Dime (in flac format). If you've not heard it, it is highly recommended.

Unsurprisingly the music is somewhat different to Joe's current full on blues style & being the trio, has more focus on the vocal & guitar and a more raw, immediate, in-your-face dynamic than the current band.

BTW, the 1st few acoustic chords were heard with an empty stage with Joe off-stage left, shortly thereafter entering the stage on his own ... a brave, understated & very effective introduction to a crowd the majority of which I'm sure had never heard of him (at the time)

Note- this link stays live only for 1 week, so get it while it's hot folks!!!

I'm still sad that I missed the 10 years on return gig, but thanks to the excellent vids from nmagcorn, Pete the Cabby (& a few other clips on YouTube) & Toddjun for the audio on Dime, I've now been able to watch & listen to the show .. which at 2 hours 10 minutes was a lot longer than the relatively short 1h 41min from 2005!

Cheers - Steve

Going full screen on Natasha's great capture of Oh Beautiful and Going Down ... looks like it's Snakebite ... a '59 ... but defer to the experts here.

Yes, it was "Snakebite" that was played at that show and is the only '59 he was using for the whole tour.
