- wow!
Great show, great band, great audience, great friends. Halloween on the street in Brighton at 11pm is a something to see!
New songs that I had not heard before, old songs with a new twist; BoJH, Sloe Gin. New band members that take things to another level; Michael really adds something special, his interaction with Joe is great and I found myself focusing on his bass lines at times. Keyboards, - goes without saying about the ability of Reese, - Anton superb as I have heard before, brass - wonderful. Nothing hurried, every song was given room to impress, - the sound was perfect, which could not have been easy given that the Brighton Centre is a characterless warehouse.
Wonderful to spend an evening in the front row although we had to let our two seats empty upstairs (BIG thank you again Wooders), - we were not able to make the pre show meal so it was lovely to see the bunch again, - and everybody was so happy at the end of the show, - all buzzing.
In truth I was left a little empty after Tour de Force shows perhaps because of the build up of expectation and sheer weight of responsibility of it on Joe, - at the time I was not sure why but last night it was a privilege to witness a man at the absolute top of his game, - for over 2 hours. From where I was sat I could see Bernie Marsden watching most of the show, nodding his head in approval, - on stage during the encore his face was one of amazement as we all watched Joe REALLY let rip.
- Encore stood at the front of the stage after Micheal gave the shout to go for it!

If you have 16 minutes spare the interplay between Joe and Micheal (with Anton) for BoJH is worth watching: https://youtu.be/ikRct28Wt9A
