Topic: Fender bassman '59 Ltd thoughts?

So joe's tone recently has been blowing my mind, and an opportunity to buy a bassman reissue for a pretty low price has appeared. Anyone have any experience with them?

I know it won't be as good as a proper one but it's the same price as a hot rod deluxe so in this price range what do you think?

Cheers guys

Go for it!!...I haven't played on but all the ones I have seen people play are killer.  And it sounds like the price is really good...If I could I would get it!

I say go for it if you can afford to play them as loudly as JB can. Great workhorse amps, but you need to be able to put them on 4 or so on the dial to get the most out of them tonewise. My opinion, some may disagree.

Well, I haven't got a real one, but the Fender '59 Bassman amp model on my Axe-FX is one of my absolute favourite presets.  Love playing my Strat through it.  Seeing as it is a 99% accurate model, I am assuming the actual amp will be even better.

If that is the sound you are after, I'd say go for it.  Good luck!

(Benefit of the Axe-FX is that I can still get that 'loud' tone without killing all small animals in my yard!) big_smile

By all means get it. I got one for my Dad for his bday and it's a fun amp. The tone is great for so many different styles.
