Topic: Thanks Joe! Look what you made me do...NGD!

Hi guy's.

Don't you just love bringing home a new, or at least new to you, guitar?  Brought this home Friday...

http://s1310.photobucket.com/user/DelZe … =3&o=0

Got it from a local pawn shop, traded a Squier Telecoustic (Telecaster acoustic hybrid).  I got 10% off the price and my trade value made me giggle!  I made the deal and scooted out of there.  Not positive if it is a '58 Korina tribute model, serial number does not seem to offer that info, but so far all the specs and features point in that direction.  Either way...thanks Joe!  Love the neck profile, fret board seems to love the slide...not my favourite radius but I can live with it.

When I first tried the guitar at the pawn shop, this store has a guitar demo room with 10 different amps in it, I started playing it like a Strat!  Found out that was wrong.  I saw 3 knobs, master volume and 2 tone knobs...nope!  2 volume knobs and one master tone knob.  Once I figured that out all was good.  There is a rubber pad on the bottom for some grip when playing sitting down, but I found putting the notch of the V around my leg was more comfortable.  Nicely balanced when standing too.

It's an Epiphone and it's 9 years old and I got a good deal on it and I like it, so all is good.

I have always liked the V, and with Joe's influence along with Albert King and even another artist who plays one on a regular basis that I love, the time was right.

Oh, that other artist would be Serena Ryder, my daughter and I love her.

Here she is with one of her V's... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vz7jCY1cpHk

It's the Thanksgiving long weekend here, hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Nice score! It certainly looks like Epiphone's '58 Korina copy. I have one of those myself, and wrote about her on my blog recently: http://curmudgeonbeyondthewall.blogspot … venly.html

Enjoy!

Hey Tim, I get that here a lot too, it's a pain.  I looked to see if there is a way to get around that, but everything I did hasn't worked.

Hey Coach, thanks.  And yes it does seem to be the copy, looking at yours they appear to be identical.  Your blog was a good read.

Nice score Steve!  Beautiful V (and so is yours Terrance).

very nice looking, and affordable is always a good thing. Yeah, the link to hers wouldn't load for me either, but while I was there I checked out some of her songs. Just a tremendous voice, I'm an instant fan. Little Bit of Red is great as well as the Buddy Holly and Fleetwood Mac covers. Where has she been hiding all this time ???

Nevermind, I found her site. 11 CDs and I've never heard of her, will be purchasing several.

Here is one that would load for me, rockin it with the V......what a talent !!! You must be one very proud dad, congrats again on the new guitar. You Bonabuds just have to listen to 'For You' live at the Juno Awards, sounds like something straight out of a James Bond movie.

Thanks!

Glad you found some workable YouTube for her, I've seen her live twice and she is an absolute sweetheart.

Thanks Devan!  Sorry for the GAS, but you know how it goes.  Besides, it's all Joe's fault anyway!  smile

Enjoy the great guitar. I bought one of these new and you just can't beat the price for the quality of workmanship. Have fun with it.

Lovin' the V, man! I also intend to buy one like that further down the road, probably when I'm done with college (Not very soon, I just started lol)
Anyways, play the fudge out of that thang! big_smile
