Topic: The Record Company

I don't know if this band has been mentioned before on here because i don't get on here that much anymore.
Well last night i saw Jonny Lang and the opening band was a trio called the Record Company.
First off, Jonny Lang was ok,but i think I am done seeing him.
The Record Company came together just 5 years ago and up to a short time ago they were jamming in the living room.
Before the show i checked out youtube and liked what I heard from the minimal selection. But Live they were extremely good and they won over the crowd immediately. During the show it was announced that they had signed a record deal. Just figure i'd give you a heads up.

Re: The Record Company

Did not get to see these guys when they were in Milwaukee but I am really enjoying their cd. One of my favorites that I bought this year. They are a California band but the singer Chris Voss is originally from Wisconsin.

A little Joe tie in here. Back several years ago Joe played Shank Hall. A duo opened up for him. At that time they were members of a local group Freshwater Collins. It was a taller thin guy on strat and a shorter guy with a beard singing and playing acoustic guitar and lap steel. They sat on stools and did originals as well as covers of Gram Parsons and Tammy Wynett.

The shorter guy with the beard singing and playing acoustic and lap steel was Chris Voss, the singer guitarist for the Record Company.

When I was a child I spoke as a child, But all I heard was how I should get ahead,
Now growing up it ain't anything but all This indecision with these debts and doubts
And worries hanging over my head. When I was a child I spoke as a child,
I wish I could remember what I said.

Re: The Record Company

I bought their CD, Give It Back To You and it knocked me out on the first listen. Its got that raunchy and rowdy style that gets your blood pumpin' when you listen to them. The other thing about these guys I love is their love of The Grateful Dead. They cut an album of Dead covers that I've only been able to find on youtube. If anybody knows where to find that material for sale let me know.
