Topic: What other artist would you like to see Joe perform with?

Besides another great guitar player, what other artist would you like to see do a song with Joe. Not a whole album, maybe a guest appearance. I have been in a bit of a Joss Stone groove lately and was thinking that her powerful voice would complement Joe's powerful playing. Here is a clip of Joss doing a bluesy song. smile
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KI8lxGEkkJc I think a duet would add another dimenson to Joes music. Just thnking outside the box here!

What do you think?

That would be cool, I reckon.

I'd like to see Joe jam with Philip Sayce.

Also Joe and Clapton would be awesome!

If he was still alive: Joe and John Lee Hooker smile

Re: What other artist would you like to see Joe perform with?

Joe and Bonnie Raitt.  I remember seeing footage of John Lee Hooker and Bonnie playing together and it was unbelievable.

Re: What other artist would you like to see Joe perform with?

Fretwork-Oh YEAH, Bonnie and Joe,  my female musician fantasy and Clapton is my male musician fantasy!!  As far as John Lee Hooker, are you talking "I'm In The Mood"?  I think I posted that youtube link before and the mods took it down, not sure, maybe I never posted it, the footage is a little steamy... tongue  I've been trying to think of a good bluesy song Joe and Bonnie could cover in a duet fashion...Never Make Your Move Too Soon has been done, but with Rick on keys, it would be killer...the song hasn't hit me over the head yet...any ideas?

I think we may have strayed from photogal's point...she was thinking someone not well known for being a guitarist.  On that level, I'd have to say Rod Stewart, since Joe seems to really admire him and he worked well with Jeff Beck!

I was proposing this topic to go more in the direction of a duet more than someone to jam with. I was thinking of someone with a voice and artistic vision that would complement, challenge and expand the blues audience. Something a lillte edgy, bluesy and a bit outside the box. That is why I brought up Joss Stone. She has an incredible voice and covers many genres and is British to boot! In an interview with Joss I remember her saying that she does not like to be labeled into a particular genre. She said that she is an old soul in a young body........now where have we heard that before? smile

Don't get me wrong, I own some Joss Stone, but I feel like once you've heard one song, you've heard them all--she always sounds the same to me.  Plus she's already gotten to perform with Jonny Lang, KWS and Santana to name a few.  KT Tunstall has a great voice too, she appears to play a little guitar, but her main instrument is her voice.

How about Joe and his own girl Lea?

Re: What other artist would you like to see Joe perform with?

I said it before and I know they already collaborated on ANDY, but I'd love to see Joe and Gregg Allman play one live show together.
I love Susan Tedeschi...that would be OK too.

Re: What other artist would you like to see Joe perform with?

Being a huge fan of Noah Hunts voice, I'd dig Joe letting Noah tear into some covers Joe has never done, or maybe thinks are fitted for Noahs voice. I'm trying to think of at least one song, and I'm drawing a blank. Hey maybe Bogie has one, he knows him I believe, naw dont want to put him on the spot. smile

Shred.......I'd give up a body part to play ANYTHING that sounds like music

Re: What other artist would you like to see Joe perform with?

Personally I would love to see:  Joe & Stephen Stills
                                              Joe & Rod Stewart
                                              Joe & John Fogerty

I would pass out if I saw any one of the above 3 combo.   smile  pattyluvsjoe
