Topic: Patches? I aint got no stinkin' patches!

Ok, I don't want to come off as a nay sayer. Nope, not a nay sayer. However (you knew that was comin'), I have to ask "Why are you designing JB patches with skulls and chains? I have an FB page,

JoeBonamassaRockstheWorld

and I have presented these new patches, well one anyway, and nobody likes it. The response has been pretty much the same, its NOT Joe's style, image, or, well, its just not Joe.

I am not sure who you are trying to appeal too. Most of Joe's fans are not bikers, at least not young ones (sorry, sad but true). And Joe does not play hard rock or old rock or anything someone who likes skulls would listen to.

I know it is probably tough to find icons that are patch worthy. I am also sure that, given the opportunity (like being asked) I could come up with something a little more bluesy. And a little more JBee (?). smile
So, what do you all think about this?

I'm not a fan of them either, but I don't do much of that stuff anyway.

Like the patches or not, I'd say it is a pretty broad generalization to say that "bikers" don't listen to Joe.  Hell, I used to ride Harleys with a guy who listened to Enya when he was painting some pretty angry hot rods/choppers.  He said it made the finish come out smoother....and he was right.

Not on faceboke so I can't see the patches, but I would like to.  As far as JB patches with skulls and crossbones, I think it's just fine 'n' dandy for a design paradigm.  wink cool

I never thought of myself as a skull person, but then I noticed that I have one.

And not just under my hat smile   I bought a "vintage bonamassa" sweatshirt at the Red Rocks Muddy Wolf show. I noticed when I looked just now, that mine is a less ominous looking skull than the current version, but the cool guitar aspect of it is that the crossbones are guitar necks. Here is mine from an old newsletter:

There's a whole world of fans (9000 at Red Rocks that day.) I guess they're just trying to cover the full range of what people might want.

- biker copy patches - not a thing to mess with, - as a few unlucky pseudo bikers found out with Sons of Anarchy memorabilia.

Didn't mean to say bikers don't listen to Joe, just that the Skull is not displayed by many people and bikers (the club bikers) came to mind. I apologize for misspeaking. I don't have a Harley, but have more than a few bike miles. Enya? That's hilarious. I can see it would put him in the "smooth" mood.
