Topic: Gasolene - Featuring Joe Bonamassa

A friend of mine remembers seeing Joe with a group called Gasolene after the Bloodline days.

Does anybody have any knowledge about this group, how long they played for, who was in the band and did they record any material together.  If you look in Pollstar under Bonamassa, the drop down list Gasolene ia still showing up.

Re: Gasolene - Featuring Joe Bonamassa

I saw that reference on Pollstar years ago, but never saw/heard anything else about such a group.  I've been "actively" following Joe since 1989 so I figured I would have at least heard of it.  I almost caught "Smokin' Joe's Vault" (they ended up canceling the gig the night of the show ~ I found out after I got there), but that ended up being the original solo career lineup I believe, with Creamo & Tony.  By the time I saw Joe play again (at the Vernon Downs show) I believe they were just called "Joe Bonamassa" & not "Smokin' Joe's Vault".

Good question though!  Anybody have any other insights on this?

I remember seeing Gasolene at the Red Creek in Rochester, NY.  Steven Van Zant was with them but did not play with them.  I don't remember who else was in the band. They were playing hard rock...

My buddy that saw Joe in Gasolene is from Rochester.  You probably were at the same show because he mentioned that he talked with Steven Van Zant...
