Topic: Joe at Shoreline Amphitheater, CA

Looks like our Rocket was at the Shoreline show! Here is a video he did of Neil Schon guesting with Joe on "Oh, Pretty Woman"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCEKmukYEO8

Thanks for capturing this Rocket!

Re: Joe at Shoreline Amphitheater, CA

Hard to believe, but I just cannot come up with adequate words to descibe how fantastic this show was at this time.  They had the crowd rockin' all the way through...

Re: Joe at Shoreline Amphitheater, CA

Thanks for the video Rocket! It would appear that the Three Kings Tour is getting great reviews across the board. I admit, I was a bit apprehensive when I went to the SPAC show, I was only familiar with some of the songs and didn't know what to expect. But Joe has a way of drawing you in, and the crowd was loving it. There were many standing ovations. If I could make it to another Three Kings show, I'd do it.

Play some cards & drink black coffee,
How I’d love to see you smile....

Wrong place to post, your ticket prices are too high to believe face value, and an untimely first poster post...

Re: Joe at Shoreline Amphitheater, CA

The key word here being Amphitheater! Who made the decision to book this concert? In the past it seemed like JB mostly played indoor shows at more intimate venues. Why hasn't he played the Fillmore or Warfield in San Francisco? I didn't go because there were no general admission tix and just found out that the lawn was closed. Ticket prices are too expensive!

Talked to 2 employees of the venue and capacity is 22,000 and estimated attendance was ~2,700 to 3,000! The ushers working the show got released and got to sit down and watch an hour+ plus.

One friend said that the show was very good but where are the set lists and reviews?

Glad I got to see Joe in the early days for cheap and / or free. I would love to hear how Joe explains this to his regular touring band how they can't play in the studio or on these tours. Time to strip it back down to the basics. Back to the free infinite internet.

Too bad you've got the blues seemingly ungrateful Fred.

This was a blues show deluxe and nothing is cheap these days except talk and bitchin'...

Your in a minority, this was an awesome show and a incredible tribute by Joe and his band to the kings of this music. If you did not enjoy the show oh well I guess you need to listen to the crap that's on mainstream pop or perhaps heavy metal cugga cugga

Talked to multiple employees of the venue and capacity is 22,000 and estimated attendance was ~2,700 to 3,000! The ushers working the show got released and got to sit down and watch most of the show. They said thanks for being a great audience and being there to really listen to the band.

Perhaps someone in the Bonamassa organization can confirm, deny. and explain the Shoreline Amphitheater concert. Rumor is that Joe rented out the venue to play for the fans and loyal supporters yet ticket prices started at almost $100!? There was no advertising. Seems like the only way to find out about the concert was through the JB website or the Shoreline box office and website and word of mouth. There was no cameras filming event. There was no interviews or press, either.

Speaking of amps, those vintage tweed tube amps sure sound great when they are miked and put through the sound reinforcement system.

"One Last Cross to Bear" live!

Bring Joe to the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA!

Ticket prices were at or over $100 for all the shows. The size of the band, caliber of musicians and support crew demand those prices just to pay the bills. 6 tour busses and two semi truck rigs for the hardware! No filming up there because the Greek show is the one designated for the DVD shoot. As to that rumor, that is exactly what it is. Just a rumor so tell those Bay Area haters to go down to the local club and support those artists who dream of the life of JoeB. None of them work half as hard and that is what you get for what you pay.
If you can't pay the freight to see him live now, get the dvd. His prices will never be low again and he's earned it by paying dues for many years. He still relies on word of mouth and his fan base for most of the sales. The good old days of small clubs at bargain basement prices are long gone. I just got done seeing the two sold out shows here in San Diego and didn't hear a single complaint from anyone that attended. My sister did comment though that she thought Leon Russel's Hummingbird was a bit better.  Universal agreements of "best show ever" were the rule. Worth every last penny!
