Topic: Praising Joe's punctuality

Last night being at Robert Plant's show in München (excellent by the way) I was longing once more for Joe's way to start shows on time.
We came to the venue at 5.30 to get pole positions at the entrance (standing venue), at 7 doors were opened (we got our front row place), at 8 two nice guys with guitars opening up (not too bad, but…), at 8.40 rearranging the stage, at 9 stage was okay, at 9.20 Robert and the band came on stage.
Would be nice if Joe's punctual starts would spread out a bit in rockstar circles.

Re: Praising Joe's punctuality

I've been to a lot of concerts over the last forty years, and more often than not, they started late. Joe is the exception. I've only seen him live three times, but each time the show started right on time. Joe certainly has an excellent work ethic, and respect for his fans, and it shows in everything he does. Also, it wouldn't be possible if he didn't surround himself with true professionals, so his crew and staff deserve credit as well.

Hey Guenter.. that's probably pretty good for the old guy like Robert now

You ask the "kids" today how long they have to wait for Miley or Justin or  or or or to show up on stage..

I wouldn't if I was a young'n

Joe is the way to go.. time your watches with him

Re: Praising Joe's punctuality

I've always told people, going to see Joe for the first time, to be in your seat no later than 10 minutes before scheduled show time.  At least twice, when I've seen him, he has started a couple minutes early.  Rusty, you are absolutely right, it comes down to respect for your audience.

The only thing we deserve, is an opportunity.  Everything else has to be earned.

Re: Praising Joe's punctuality

I kinda think Joe is so anxious to play for us he can't wait to start...it is refreshing no matter why he does it....

+1 ... and Joe shows it in many ways (I think) for us audience / fans.

"I was in Space for less than 2 weeks … and suddenly Jeaniene’s back … half the Band is off the gd wagon … we have comedians opening for us … and the nice kid that ran our website is now a kleptof’nmaniac.  Boy ... did you guys miss me!!"  Phil Valentine - Road Manager - Staton House Band

It's the least I can do for all of you who work so hard to get to my shows. Plus on a school night I get you home by 10:30.

My wife lets me stay out later on show nights, so 11 would be ok too smile

And I agree with the others: I love the professionalism of your shows, right down to the suits.

Re: Praising Joe's punctuality

My friend and I saw Joe and the band three times at the Apollo in London this March and I was astounded by his time keeping, even starting a few minutes early on one night much to the bemusement of some who were just turning up to their seats with a couple of beers in hand.

You're the best Joe! Refreshing to have an artist who is considerate of the fans!

I always get a chuckle at shows with friends, because one of us is always tapping our watch or wrist for the countdown of your appearance smile

So Numero Uno & Fearless Leader this is just one of the many reasons you are so loved by your fans !

Yes, that`s why I can attend the next 11th evening (Oct, 16 in Saarbrücken) without being stung with remorse for the next schoolday.  My principal should learn a little bit from your time management...

But even if you wouldn`t end on the nose: Your music and your performance are worth every second of an additional encore. Each gig ever ends much too soon.

The pupils may wonder the next day why the Mrs. seems to be more tired than usually but nevertheless very good humored...
Explaining and playing some tunes/tracks in the next music lesson may for sure bring you some new younger fans. Blues At School - this time in Germany!

Looks like I am a little late to this topic!
I too appreciate Joe starting on time every time.

Indeed, Joe, you spoil us and we appreciate it smile When we see other acts and they're late we always think, why can't they be more like Joe?

Re: Praising Joe's punctuality
