Topic: Joe Meet and Greet autographs

Hey everyone,

So I have my first meet/greet with Joe at Red Rocks for the 3 Kings tour and wanted to know to what everyone has had him sign. I want to have him sign something and wants to see what would be the best thing. Obviously a JB limited guitar would be choice but those are few and far between plus out of my price range. I realize that its probably personal preference but just wanted to get all the Bonaholics opinions.

Thanks

Re: Joe Meet and Greet autographs

Anything you want. Photos, ticket stubs, guitars, magazines and more. I've seen a lot of variety.
There's a limit of two signatures I believe.

Re: Joe Meet and Greet autographs

I got my Gibson JB LP signed last year. They had pictures for sale that Joe would sign, and the proceeds went to the Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation. I bought one and got it signed just to make a donation. There were no limits on those, if you bought ten, he would sign them all. I'm thinking I'll get a guitar strap signed this time.

Joe is a First and Foremost a Guitar Geek..

Bring a guitar, it doesn't have to be his "signature" guitar.. get him to sign it.

He loves guitar stories.. if there is a guitar story behind how you got the guitar.. he loves those.

Forgot about the Guitar Safari.  Thanks Doug, glad I'm bringing mine, it has a bit of a story, as well as the amp I play it through.  But only if there is time.

I'm not bringing the amp!!   smile

Re: Joe Meet and Greet autographs

I have an autograph question myself.  I'm meeting JOE in New Orleans in November. I already have an autographed Pickguard and an 8x10 framed together.

I do have 2 JB guitars... 1 gold top, one pelham blue.  The pelham blue is in mint condition.  My Goldtop has a little mileage on it and has small dings.  Very small for most, but Godzilla size to me and my OCD!!

What I was planning on doing is having JOE personalize the GoldTop to me somg worh "never give up" or something like that and then retire it.  Then have him sign the rear of the headstock so I can still play it.  Both guitars sound terrific.  As soon as I decide in that I think about having him sign the opposite way.  Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Re: Joe Meet and Greet autographs

I'd always opt for just a signature on the back of the headstock, but that's me. Its your choice.

I bought this to have him sign. I also plan on taking a picture with him and have it printed and put in the frame.

I've not seen those before!  That looks like a great item to have signed.

Re: Joe Meet and Greet autographs

I am going to take the license plate off the Corvette that is my Avitar and have Joe sign it.  We have a meet and great scheduled in December.  Will have to tell the state of Fla. that it was lost, so I can frame this one and still have one on the car.  Mountain Time is a special song for my wife and I, we had a similar situation, except it was I-75 north, instead of I-90 west.

I've had Joe autograph my custom license plate JOEBROX twice. The coating on the plate makes the signature very susceptible to being washed off. Once it's dry, I'd give it a coat of clear sealing spray. I also got one of those clear license plate covers to help protect it. Maybe a light #800 wet sanding where you want it might help it to stay better?

Thank you sir, I will do just that.

Thank you all for the ideas. Unfortunately he had to cancel the net and greet at Red Rocks last night so I guess I'll have to wait till next year.

Too bad. Same deal last year. I'd guess that sorting the M/G there is an issue with logistics and the way RR is situated. Better luck next time.

So if the meet and greet is cancelled, do you receive some sort of credit?

Probably a M&G at another show. I was at red rocks last year, and it was planned ahead that there would be no M&G, ostensibly due to scheduling around recording the show. So I got M&G passes to another show, but of course I had to buy tickets to that second show.
