Topic: Saratoga New York Show, August 10th

Is anyone here going to the Saratoga NY Show August 10th? After seeing Joe for the last couple of years at a venue literally minutes from home, I've been spoiled. This show will be a two hour drive. Still not bad, and well worth it. I know quite a few people from the area, and they tell me the Saratoga Performing Arts Center is a really nice venue.

One month to go!

I've seen many concerts at "SPAC," including Joe Bonamassa opening for Bad Company and Foreigner in 2002.  While it is no Red Rocks, it is an excellent venue.  Huge sell outs may jeopardize view from some "lawn seats" positions (near the fence), but the sound characteristics are those of a very good outdoor amphitheater and the sound carries well all the way to the back food court.  Floor and balcony seats are all decent, even far off center.  Plus Saratoga Springs is a fun city, albeit a bit drunk in summer due to Long Island and Jerseyite invasions that swarm the town for horse racing and gambling.  Lots of music opportunities in the area also...

Should be another great Joe B. "local" show-hope the weather makes for a fine upstate summer night.  cool

Re: Saratoga New York Show, August 10th

I'm heading to Saratoga from Buffalo. It's not the closest show to me (Blossom in Ohio is) but we have friends that live there that we can visit. Still, a lot closer than Beaver Creek (best show I saw all last year by far) and Red Rocks where we saw Muddy Wolf. After seeing those shows live last year I wouldn't miss this years show! Also doing the meet and greet in Saratoga. First time ever for me to meet an artist and am excited by the prospect. Regarding SPAC as a venue, I've heard nothing but good things about the sound quality. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Rusty I really hope to meet you at the Meet and Greet! My name is Joe and I'll be there with my wife Carol. Where in Massachusetts are you from and will you be alone or with some one? It IS definitely nice to meet Bona fans! Met a whole bunch last year in Colorado prior to the 2 shows at Beaver Creek and Red Rocks and everyone was exceptionally nice. I was amazed at how many times some of these people have seen Joe!

I'm from Springfield, its will be a two hour drive to Saratoga for me. Not bad, but the last two times were ten minutes from home. I'll likely be alone on this trip, not sure yet. I know people in the Saratoga area, so I'll be there early doing some visiting with friends. I'll talk to you again before the show so we can plan on getting together to say hi, I'm looking forward to meeting you and your wife.

Cheers,
Rusty

About a 5 1/2 hour drive for me but I don't care at all. Last year was a 2000 + mile flight, rental car and hotel. It was worth every penny. I'll be leaving on Saturday. Visiting friends and heading to the horse races on Sunday. Please get in touch! Definitely want to meet you! This should be a wonderful memorable concert!
