Re: Bona-Trivia

Lee, you are correct on the band member, Len Bonamassa.  Jane, from the printed source I received from a very reliable BonaMom I can only stand firm on the 9 (that's not to say it couldn't possibly be off by a couple of years) wink

Jane got the main question - and she definitely would have got the bonus question - so I think she should ask the next question.

Re: Bona-Trivia

can I phone a friend on this one?

Re: Bona-Trivia

I think I've got one of them, but I'll sit on my hands first to see if someone comes up with both.

My google-fu is usually strong, and having one of the band names* should have made it easier, so the information might not be online.

*maybe. I'm not sure I'm correct, but it begins with 'H'.

I fail on reading comprehension. smile

I missed that Jane asked for names of bands that Joe's father was in, not Joe himself.

Re: Bona-Trivia

His own releases? A New Day Yesterday.

Or was that pressed after a later album, out of order?

EDIT: I checked myself. It was A New Day Yesterday Live that I saw on the JB store in vinyl.

So I'm going with Blues Deluxe. smile

Re: Bona-Trivia

As I recall, LFNIP was the first of Joe's albums to be released on vinyl.

Re: Bona-Trivia

Staying on the subject of the "Live From Nowhere In Particular" vinyl release:

The JB Store sold some copies - not sure how many in the end - that were hand-signed by Joe. In addition to his signature Joe did something else with those particular copies as sort of an additional personal touch. What was it that Joe did besides signing those copies?

In the Thank-you section of the liner notes, Joe lined out the girl of his broken dreams!

I have one of these and if I remember correctly didn't Joe say he personally crossed out every single one himself? wink

Your first guess was best.  You deleted the post and left the wrong one. tongue Oh well! It's ok! big_smile

OK, you have 1/2 of the question correct for half credit. wink Good job. His paternal grandfather is Leonard (Lenny) Bonamassa, Sr.

Even if anyone can come up with his maternal grandfather you'll get to ask next. smile
