Topic: Live Aid

Well, today is the 30th anniversary of this huge event!! I was only about 3 months old when it happened, but I do have the DVD of it, and there's definitely some great performances. This is definitely a stand out performance:

Wish I could've been there to see one of the shows in person, or watched in on TV when it happened!

Re: Live Aid

I remember watching this dvd in high school as I was getting ready in the morning. Was obsessed with it for a good year lol This is when I learned of Dire Straits and fell in love with them. Also another favorite performance was Eric Claptons. Need to buy this dvd again cause I haven't seen it around in a while!

Re: Live Aid

Love this DVD! Actually the one I have is spread out over 4 DVDs. Lots of goodies on there. My favorite performance on this one is Queen. Let us not forget BB King is on there too!
I did get the pleasure of watching Live Aid on TV when it aired. MTV to be exact. I taped it on my Dad's hi-fi VHS cassette recorder! I commandeered the TV for what seemed like days and I was so excited to see Duran Duran. Judge all you like, I was 11. smile
Same thing for the Moscow Music Peace festival in 1989. They should make a DVD for that concert too, if they haven't already!

Re: Live Aid

Clapton, Dire Straits, and B.B. King were all great as well. Lots of great performances, but watching Freddie Mercury command that whole stadium will never be equaled!!
