Topic: The Bonamassa Workout

At the recommendation of my cardiologist, I have recently taken up a daily walking regimen. It isn't easy at my age, but I'm up to about three miles a day (weather permitting), and my secret is listening to Joe's music as I walk! I monitor the distance traveled and time expired on my smartwatch...

I alternate between a playlist of the acoustic numbers (plus "Arrival") from the last tour of his I saw (2014), and a playlist of the electric numbers (plus "Albion") from that tour. I usually only walk for around 45-50 minutes, so I skip a number here and there to make sure I'm listening to either "Athens to Athens" or "Django/Mountain Time" as the workout concludes...

Set list from spring 2014 tour: http://tinyurl.com/pbogbmh

Now Joe's music isn't just good for my soul, it's good for my heart as well...  wink

Brilliant, Coach!  Great idea for all of us couch potatoes.

Re: The Bonamassa Workout

Dust Bowl pushed me to the limit last year. Running, push ups, squads...I worked out at the beach everyday...Joe's music was the perfect motivation. Good luck with your workout ;-)

Coach come to my place and hike the hills with my wife and my dogs. If you fall behind we can always tie one of the dogs to you to make your legs work faster or you'll take what we call a "Corbettsville Sleigh Ride". No snow needed. ;-)

I appreciate the offer, but one of the reasons I've taken up walking is to help me get back to my "fighting" weight...I doubt that all of your dogs combined could drag my Irish carcass anywhere at the moment...  wink

Re: The Bonamassa Workout

I've been a little remiss with the workout routine lately, but I have a playlist I titled "Gym Jams"...lots of up tempo, high energy songs to spark a good workout.
Mostly Joe, but a bunch of other stuff mixed in as well. Works like a charm!

Re: The Bonamassa Workout

I started running last year, and when DSOB came out, I doubled my run length to fit in the whole album.

Originally I had a mix that seemed appropriate for running, with Slow Train, Stones In My Passway, Pain and Sorrow, so Many Roads, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Slow Ride and Everything is Broken. I didn't enjoy running at the beginning. :-)

Re: The Bonamassa Workout

I'm a cyclist and I have a cycling playlist and Joe is a heavy hitter! He keeps me pumped when I do not want to climb that hill or push myself to go faster.
