Topic: JB gets recognized? Rolling Stone article: LP's 100th Birthday

Maybe this is a coming of age for Joe, or a coming of logic for Rolling Stone Magazine. Either way they compliment JB with their write up on the LP 100th bday celebration. Even put his photo as the main one on the page...

Between the two most metal-rooted rockers [Vai & Satriani] (neither of whom played Les Pauls), Joe Bonamassa and Warren Haynes performed emotive blues-based sets. Even so, Bonamassa rivaled the speed of the shredders with his precise solos on Muddy Waters' "All Aboard" and Otis Rush's "Double Trouble."

Yeah, I posted a link to this yesterday in the Les Paul 100th Celebration thread. Wasn't sure where to put it, but it probably should have its own thread. One of the coolest things is they have Joe's photo as their headline shot. About time they recognize him. They kind of got something wrong in the article, though. They acted like only Warren Haynes and Steve Miller sang at the show. They totally forgot to mention Joe. He was the first one to sing after many instrumentalist performers. Was such a relief to finally hear some singing, lol. And Joe sounded great!

Does RSfinally get it since Joe is playing with the big dogs all the time now?
It would be nice to see them do a feature on Joe.

What REALLY got some forums to meltdown was the pic of the Fractal Axe-FX behind Joe in that picture.  Purists were convinced that he had gone to the 'dark side'.

As it turns out, I believe that was Neil Schon's Axe-FX waiting for his turn on the stage... big_smile
