Topic: Anyone else listening to Robben Ford's new album ?
Titled " Into the Sun " , and he's got me hooked on it. Other than Muddy Wolf, this is best new album I've heard in 2015. Features Keb Mo, Warren Haynes, others. Really good.

Long time fan of Robben's and it is as good as anything he has put out with or without the guests. Keb Mo and ZZ Ward's vocals were the only real tel that there were even guests. If you are a fan it is a must have album.
I was not familiar with ZZ Ward, but that's now one of my fav tracks on the album.
Also forgot , that Sonny Landreth guests also.
I have an issue with Robben Ford...But maybe I'll give it a listen since it's being recommended here
Never been a big fan. I'm sure technically, he is great. I know Joe is a big fan. The tone and the songs, are just not to my liking. I will give the new album a listen. Maybe he will grow on me.
I was a fan not anymore. He has a piss poor attitude toward his fans so why should I support him
cheers Ron
He has it available free to stream on YouTube for those that want to give it a try.
I was underwhelmed, but I can accept that maybe I'm just missing something.
I've seen Robben a few times over the last several years, most recently about a month ago. This is the first album of his as a solo artist that I own and I like it a lot.
Been listening to Robben for decades, when I was a kid and he was close himself (L.A. Express). I know Lee is another Yellowjackets fan. I've always liked Robben as a solo artist since he started going by his name only. He's a great musician! Drops my jaw and often blows me away...and if he don't like you filming and it peeves you, maybe you need a life.
Rock ON & Keep The Faith,
Rocket
Funnily enough, been listening to a lot of his past catalogue recently;
Tiger Walk
Keep On Running
Blue Moon
Supernatural
Soul On Ten
Really, smooth stuff...
I gave it a listen and nope, not for me. As Jerry Garcia said about the Grateful Dead, "some people like licorice, some don't." For a long time, I didn't care for Gary Clark Jr. I kept hearing over and over again how great he was, I'd go back time and again to check out his studio albums. Again, nope not for me...that is until I heard his live album. Holy poop, what a great album. I listened to it non stop for a week. Then I thought, now I need to go back and check out his previous albums again. Blah! No energy, do drive. I almost always prefer live to studio, but this was ridiculous. Went from, I wouldn't give you a dollar for the studio album, to this is one of my top 5 albums in the past couple years.
PS. Rocket, be nice. haha
Checking it out now...thanks for the heads up.
OK.....I can tell you already....I like it a lot
Really diggin Robert Randolph on "Justified" right at this moment

Stone cold Heaven with Tyler Bryant is pretty good too. I don't really think it has a bad track on it. That is one thing I can say about Robben. If you like his work he seldom disappoints.
