Re: Fall tour USA

I really liked the presale on Sunday morning so nice to be able to get tickets at home and not stress out trying to do it at work.

As for Ticketmaster's new VIP Platinum Seats, we may as well get used to it sad If I am understanding it correctly this a good thing is the extra $$ will go to Joe and not the scalpers. When I was buying tickets for the Rolling Stones I went in to see what exactly they were offering. If the market will bear the artist and/or venue can sell the premium seats higher. They are not resale tickets. So if the scalper sites get the code they're going to have to pay the higher price too
Here's a link from the Ticketmaster FAQ page.

Re: Fall tour USA

I wondered about the platinum seats. Thanks for the link.
The venue here in San Diego where the two 3Kings shows are being held, Humphrey's, is a combined waterside resort with venue and they have licked the scalpers cold. The entire center front section back 16 rows is reserved for combined room/dinner/seat pair sales that are not available in presale. The front 3 rows get a premium suite, next jr. suite and so on. Even the platinum seats are outside of this area and are off to the side down front. Those went for $350 each while the combos went for $620-$740/pair depending on level. That is a no brainer since that is less or just a bit more than a pair of platinums with room and dinner tossed in. Scalper prices are about $200 up right now for the sold out show and those tickets are far from premium areas and way back and to the sides.

Re: Fall tour USA

Wilmington is no fluke. I have been in contact with Stephen Bailey managing director of programming at The Grand. He has tried tirelessly since Joe's last appearance there to bring him back. His never say die attitude has paid off as we not only get not one bit two shows. THANKS STEPHEN!

I think Delaware was a "fluke" for a couple of reasons (but so happy) ... I clicked on Spartanburg right after (because I have family there and thought ... Hmmm ... I'll follow the rig down 95/85.)  Seeing what was being offered .. my heart sank a bit.

It's a shame J&R can't have their tickets under their umbrella ... I have the upmost respect for what ... and how ... they have acomplished ... but realize tickets must be a whole different animal (at Joe's level now.)

smile ... probably wrong word choice on my part.  I was referring to the availability of great seats direct from the box-office at the pre-sale, the pricing ... and the return engagement in a great theatre venue ... (with 2 dates!!)  The best of everything coming together.

Thank you to Mr. Bailey of the Grand ... and Joe & Co. ... for putting it all together. smile

Sorry Jim, we won't be seeing you. We're doing Delaware, Atlanta and New Orleans. You should come up to Delaware. Cathy, Bob, Sandy and Roadcase Boy are all going to be there with us. Nice smaller venue.

Whoa, I just looked at the site and it looks like the presale for it is over. The codes won't work now and it says the tickets go on sale May 29. I guess we were really lucky to get in when we did. They should have a lot still available when it officially goes on sale since almost no one knew the presale was active for this one and the venue is selling the tickets not ticketmaster.

Re: Fall tour USA

Not so sure about this platinum seating and how many "really good" seats it will reserve.
I'm pretty sure I won't go that route.

But I'd hate to have paid $350 a ticket and right behind me someone paid $125.

It'll be interesting if Platinum will be getting better seats than the Litho-purchased tickets.  In theory, at least Joe is getting more money and less is going to the second hand dealers.

Btw, on ticketmaster for the Ryman, they had seats in the $300-$325 that were about rows 6-12.  I think the platinum are tiered.
