I was wondering if Joe plays all of the songs the same every night or does he change some of the solos and other parts up time to time? I've never seen him in different cities on the same tour. I know that many people on this forum see him multiple times on the same tour.
For a given tour - this Spring tour, e.g. - Joe and the band will generally play the songs the same each night with some minor changes in the solos. I would say Joe does more improvising with his solos now than he did a few years ago. But from one tour to the next a song can be quite different. For example, "The Ballad Of John Henry" has been in the set now for almost seven years and it usually changes from tour to tour.
Occasionally they will drop 1 or 2 songs and sub in something else, but that doesn't happen often.
Joe doesn't set his solos in stone,
They often change on how's he's feeling that night but the "core" of the song is still there
Tending to stick to the basic set list but with a lot of variation is the rule. If there's a guest you can bet on Further On Down The Road as the song they will play. Joe's solos always have a lot of variations so the show never is exactly the same day to day.

Thanks every one for answering my question. This is what I expected and hoped for. I couldn't see Joe playing the same solos every night.
