Topic: My Three year Bona anniversary

Three years ago today I saw a fine young gentleman completely melt all the guitars he played.  It was a small venue in Evansville IN called "The Centre".  Not the best acoustics but when he played "Blues Deluxes" I was up on my feet and screaming that this can't be real.   Now up to my 7th show, I know just a drop in the bucket but a lot for the wasteland of the mid west I live in.   The common theme is that at the end of each show I am always thinking when will I get to see him again.
So thank you Joe, for a wonderful gift of music, new friends around the world that suffer from this addiction too.  I have never been the same from that first sounds of "Slow Train".

Your fan and cheerleader,

Mary

Re: My Three year Bona anniversary

Ahhh, sweet Mary, +1 and congrats on your anniv.  You and I boarded this Slow Train about the same time, like so many others who first saw Joe's RAH on PBS.  Genius marketing tool, right?

Such a total pleasure "knowing" you!  Can't wait to meet in person one of these days.  Joe brings out the best in all of us.  wink  wink  wink

You are so right Sally.  It was RAH and my sweet hubby listening to Joe's videos non stop on YouTube.  I eagerly await  the real meeting of minds too.  I know it will happen.  You are my Bona-sister.

Re: My Three year Bona anniversary

Thanks PBS and now Palladia for exposing Joe to "the masses"...Quite something when you discover Joe for the 1st time and then realize how long he's been doing this...It's like...."How could I have missed this guy for so long?" I know, it happened to me in 2007....He has 6 albums already what ? I've been making up for lost time ever since !!

Definitely something to celebrate, Mary!  I found Joe in 2010 and saw my first jaw-dropping show in 2011. I just finished up my 14th show in Vegas. Good times with great people for sure!

Re: My Three year Bona anniversary

Congratulations on your Bonaversary Mary! We are nearly identical to you for our 3 year anniversary as well. First show for us was May 12, 2012 in Pittsburgh. My, how a lot has happened in 3 years! Mind blowing to say the least! Our lives have changed in so many ways and so thankful for everything that's happened. Glad we've gotten a chance to meet you, Mary. Joe certainly has helped bring wonderful people together and brought about many friendships. Look forward to seeing you again at a show in the future!

Re: My Three year Bona anniversary

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.  It has been a blast and hoping for many more mind blowing shows from Our Joe as we fondly call him.  Agree with Natasha lots of wonderful people are now a part of this Joe family.  Thanks again Joe.

Re: My Three year Bona anniversary

Funny how so many people remember Joe related anniversaries, including things like "first discovery" on either PBS/Palladia, first concert or club attendance, or a forum registration date.

The JB event I remember most is first discovery back in early 2011 or so on TV.  I don't remember whether it was on PBS or Palladia, but I DO remember it as a major "WTF" transformational moment (where did this guy come from?) that got me back into music big time.  It was right up there with remembering where I was as an American when I heard about things like the 9/11 attacks, or the space shuttle explosion, or the start of the first Gulf War.  Big difference being this was a GOOD thing, rather than bad, like remembering your wedding or the birth of your kids or something.

Again, interesting that JB related events rank right up there in so many people's minds with other major life events.  Guess music is a pretty power influence.
