Topic: Just Got Paid/dazed confused (Live at Royal Albert Hall) backing track

Hi guys!...
Let me introduce myself first. I am a complete newbie here. I would want to say hi from my country in South East Asia, Malaysia. Its been a privileged to be here as a part of JB online community. Honestly, I would say this forum has been the most active and diverse thus far. Topics of discussion ranging from advice to new guitarist up until JB latest project and upcoming events. Wah!..I never come across any forum as exciting like this.
I am a music lover myself and my influences are mostly from the all mighty classic rock especially 80's rock ranging from ACDC up until Warrant. Having been influenced with these types of music since young, from all my cassette collection to start off, I can see that lots of new bands nowadays are pretty much influenced by them. I would say that 80's classic rock are the back bone for a lot of current music. However, with advancing age and bands no longer playing together, few 80's rock band producing few album. Of course there is some exception for example ACDC, Iron Maiden, Metallica etc. So I am basically so called "trap" in my 80's rock world.
Not until recently, my best friend introduced to me to a song from Joe Bonamassa. And the first song that he introduced to me was , ~Just Got Paid/Dazed confused-Live in Royal Albert Hall~. This song completely blew me off!..I thought that there would never be any song that could match my collection of rock songs. With Joe playing rock blues kind of music, I could straight away sense some kind of connection as though I already knew his songs for ages!...This is unbelievably true...
Also, JB's song has opened a whole new world of music genre to me which is Blues rock. Though 80's classic rock are based mostly on blues but I never took it seriously. Not until I hear JB way of guitar playing and choice of notes that he used to create Just Got Paid/Dazed confused. Even my daughter likes his song very much. We were very fortunate that JB came to Singapore in 2012 and we got to see him perform LIVE on stage. He is simply magical with excellent showmanship.
As a guitar player myself, I was indulged in 80's classic rock songs for far too long up until recently I decided to play a song by JB. So I decided to play none other than the song that has inspired me: Just Got Paid/Dazed confused (LIVE). I know that this is a cover song by ZZ top but in my opinion JB rendition breathe in this song a whole new life. I would try to cover this song as best as I can for my daughter in her 18th birthday. She simply love JB songs so much. I hope to inspire her as how JB did to me.
However, after trying for months searching over the internet, I have yet to find any backing track for JB's rendition of this song. The only one available is by ZZ top which is of course great but I think JB version is simply energizing!... I did look over youtube and found few cover for this song by great guitarist for example Tom Harlock (Youtube channel)...
However, its a great mystery to me as how and where they could get a great backing track for this song. The backing track that Tom used is simply high quality. Therefore, I thought of dropping by in this forum to ask for your advice on how and where I could get the backing track for Just Got Paid/Dazed confused (Live at Royal Albert Hall).
My utmost hope is that I could master this song just in time for my daughter birthday. I am pretty sure this will be a great present to her.
If Joe is reading this message, I hope he is, I just want to say that your songs transcend all boundaries and it touches people's heart even in this part of the world. At least to me, your songs has given to me a new goal in life which is something that I am really looking forward to.

Cheers

Welcome jerliew.  I was born in Malaysia (Kuala Terrengannu) and lived all over (mainly Taiping) before moving to Australia.  Love to go back some day and taste the street food again.

Good luck with finding that backing track.  It is a fairly simple chord progression, so you might want to think about creating it yourself using Garageband or something?  The live versions tend to be an extended jam, so you might want to shorten parts of it and perhaps leave out the 'Dazed and Confused' medley at the end?

Anyhow, let us know if you find or create the track - I am sure other players here will be interested.

Hi Devan...What can I say to meet a fellow Malaysian Here. To be exact I am from Sabah...Land below the wind...If you happen to travel back to Malaysia, do drop by ya..I am more than willing to bring you around here...Sabah is a great place!...
I am a total old school bro...Been relying to my instrument all along until I was introduced to BOSS micro Br some time last year. As a bedroom guitarist myself, this machine is a great tool to practice song. Before this, all I did was relying on my good old SONY CD player to jam along with. And with that I realize I could perform Just Got paid with a good backing track during my daughter party. Nevertheless finding one is a huge mystery..LoL
Speaking on backing tracks, I realise that this topic has been discussed quite extensive in this forum before. Some posts extend way back in 2007!...Oh my goodness..I am totally way behind time here, trap in a time capsule... ;(

Hi PsSmith1946... Thank you so much for the heads up... Really appreciate... Have you played over the track? Is it good?...
Hopefully I am reaching my goal soon..
I think the most important element in a good backing track is both drum n bass. Both of them must be accurately sound... LoL... What do u guys think?

Hi if I remember it is very electronic but note for note about as good as it gets. There is a fair amount of Joe stuff on there and it tends to be better than most.  big_smile

It did sound electronic. Nevertheless, the tab are pretty good. I have compared it with a guitar pro version which I have found over the internet and no doubt on its quality. If anyone of you interested I am more than willing to share with you.
Just post your e mail to me.
I think I want to give credit to the tab creator, definitely will put any guitarist out there a significant amount of time to practice over.
Ooo gosh...in the mean time the quest in locating a better backing track continues...;)

Re: Just Got Paid/dazed confused (Live at Royal Albert Hall) backing track

Hi guys... Here is some update..I have come across to several web portal that able to create custom backing track for guitar.
I just need some opinion here whether is it a good idea to subscribe to their service. I would say they will charge a certain amount, nevertheless, if there are 5 of us willing to share then it would not be expensive. At the end of the day, we can all jam along to Just Got Paid backing track and even share among the members here.
What do u guys think?... LoL
