Topic: Minneapolis Saturday 04/25/15

I left Mountain Time  early today the 24th...drove all the way from Montana, Down By The River, to Idaho the closest airport & flew all the way across the country to see JB in Minneapolis on Saturday night. This will be my second JB show. The last show I attended was in Reno NV 2014 on Pearl Harbor Day (December 7th). That was a snowy & cold day near Tahoe, the show was cancelled and postponed until the next night. What a show it was! JB & the band showed up on stage and said " We really hate to cancel any show....but we couldn't get over that damn mountain!" Well they finally got over that mountain and played their hearts out for us fans overtime! I wouldn't miss this show on the 25th for anything. Looking forward to being "Bonamassafied" once again. It is 4:30 am....I am so spun up from the flight and the upcoming show I can't sleep! Might as well kick back in the Hilton,  listen to Different Shades Of Blue and sip Sloe Gin. I hope to see you North Easterners at the Orpheum Saturday night...Row A....yes ROW A!....stage left 14. This is gonna be one memorable show!

Re: Minneapolis Saturday 04/25/15

I must say the Saturday night show in Minneapolis was nothing short of amazing! The Orpheum Theater is so beautiful, from an era of a different time in every way. There could not be a more perfect venue for JB than this. The sound was excellent, no harshness or clipping no ringing ears even sitting directly in front of the driver array front row stage left. It was dialed in so well along with the acoustics of the Theater equaled a match made in heaven. The band displayed each members individual talents distinctly and the new material refreshing. Remarkably one man in soft red shoes wearing a sharp suit, sun glasses and his guitar silenced 2500 individuals like nothing I have ever witnessed before in my lifetime, you could hear a pin drop. Then the power and thunder was released on John Henry like an earthquake. For me It was almost like being in a private club with thousands of friends watching our brothers perform their musical ballet of peace, love and compassion. In a world filled with so much turmoil this enchanted evening with Joe Bonamassa lifted us upon a higher plane of consciousness and for an all too short period of time we were released from our cares, worries and burdens. The memories remain long after the music fades and we will share them and keep them in a very safe place in our hearts and minds. Thank you Joe and company for making life so special and sharing your unique talent with us this night.
                                                                   Until next time.

Beautiful review, Down, especially the above.  Thank you!

What a wonderful show, as expected, and as always. I've yet to see the setlist from the show and I'm searching for one song in particular.

The song started ( I think) with the muted trumpet that went on for a minute or two.

Can anyone help?

The song with the muted trumpet is Look Over Yonder's Wall The song actually starts before the trumpet solo. Joe first plays I Gave Up Everything For You 'Cept The Blues then segues into Look Over Yonders Wall I film them together because they blend from one to the other so beautifully. The song you're asking about, Look Over Yonders Wall begins on this video at exactly 7:30 https://youtu.be/AxDbuoWYPNo

The setlist for the show is:
Hey Baby/ Oh Beautiful
Never Give All Your Heart
Hidden Charms
Living On The Moon
Trouble Town
Double Trouble
I Gave Up Everything For You 'Cept The Blues
Look Over Yonders Wall
One Less Cross To Bear
Don't Burn Down That Bridge
So, What Would I Do
Love Ain't A Love Song
Sloe Gin
Ballad of John Henry
All Aboard

Re: Minneapolis Saturday 04/25/15

Took a little break with this show and didn't film everything. Nice to be able to clap and tap my feet, but I'm glad I got what I did because Joe's playing at this show was exemplary. The "Love Ain't A Love Song" was practically a religious experience, the "John Henry" had some incredible parts to it along with even more interaction between Joe and the audience reminiscent of what he used to do during "Just Got Paid". Really enjoy seeing Joe get the audience up and excited. And the "Yonders Wall" solos are out of this world. The whole show was top, top notch and made even better by the special unexpected treat beforehand of getting to watch a soundcheck and hear you practice the "Star Spangled Banner" Thank you, thank you Joe! Just when I think how can our experiences be any better, you surprise us all with something extra special. Can't thank you enough for a weekend of such fantastic music and so happy we could share the experience with our dearest friends Patty, Lee and Renee. Memories we will treasure forever.
