Legendary Guitarist Lou Pallo at 4th Annual NY Guitar Show & Exposition April 25th.
The NY Guitar Show & Exposition proudly announces the appearance of legendary guitarist and Les Paul trio member Lou Pallo to the 2015 NY Guitar Show at the Freeport Recreation Center April 25 & 26, 2015 in Freeport, Long Island.
In celebrating what would have been Les Paul’s 100th birthday, show founder/promoter Richard Johnson said, “It is a dream come true, the legendary Lou Pallo will grace us with an appearance in the Les Paul Exhibit booth on Saturday April 25th and then perform at a jam afterwards at a location in Freeport.”
Known as the “Man of a Million Inversions” due to his limitless chord voicing, musicians and guitarists around the world know the name Lou Pallo and respect it with the highest regard.
Mr. Pallo said, “It is an honor and pleasure to be a part of the NY Guitar Show this year as we remember my good friend Les Paul with many of his and my friends from over the years.”
In 2012, Lou Pallo released a documentary and recording tribute to Les Paul titled “Thank You Les”. Collaborators on this project include Eddie Brigati Jr. (The Rascals), Nokie Edwards (The Ventures), José Feliciano, Billy F Gibbons (ZZ Top), Steve Miller, Keith Richards, Slash and other notable artists. “Thank You Les” is the winner of three 12th Annual Independent Music Awards and the documentary is running on select public television stations nationwide.
Attendees of the NY Guitar Show will be able to sit and speak with Mr. Pallo and discuss his legendary career and Lou will sign his DVD and CD’s of the acclaimed PBS special “Thank You Les.”
About Lou Pallo: Lou Pallo is an American jazz guitarist and vocalist, best known for the three decades he played in The Les Paul Trio. Lou was raised in Haledon, NJ, where his father played guitar and his sister was a concert pianist, schooled at Julliard. His Italian family, who routinely played music together under the backyard grapevine, ingrained Lou’s love for music at an early age. Inspired by the sounds of the guitar, accordion and mandolin, Lou picked up a guitar and taught himself chords, then shortly after began to take private lessons. His guitar heroes were Les Paul and Tony Mottola.

Les Paul Book Author Robb Lawrence at 4th Annual NY Guitar Show & Exposition
The NY Guitar Show & Exposition announces guitarist, photographer and Les Paul book author Robb Lawrence will appear at the 2015 NY Guitar Show at the Freeport Recreation Center April 25 & 26, 2015 in Freeport, Long Island.
Author Robb Lawrence will be in the Les Paul Exhibit booths at the 2015 NY Guitar Expo both Saturday & Sunday and will be signing his books. Robb will also perform with Lou Pallo at a performance after the expo on Saturday night.
In celebrating what would have been Les Paul’s 100th birthday, show founder/promoter Richard Johnson said, “We are making this celebration of Les’ life as fun and positive as we can with as many of Les’ friends and bandmates as possible from all over the country and having Robb incolved who knew Les so well is truly special.”
Attendees of the NY Guitar Show will be able to speak with Robb, get his books, see his Les Paul guitars, artifacts and hear some great Les Paul stories for sure.
About Robb Lawrence: Guitarist / author Robb Lawrence began playing at age 12 and by 67’ was teaching at La Jolla music and performing. Robb embarked on a side career of writing Rarebird articles for Guitar Player magazine in 73’. While putting together books on American guitars, Les Paul took a special interest in his work and invited him to live in Mahwah NJ. This collaboration resulted in a two-volume box set. The first volume released in 2008 titled “The Early Years of the Les Paul Legacy. The second was “The Modern Era of the Les Paul Legacy” ('68-'09) with Hal Leonard released in 2009. Gateway Inn: We’ve worked a deal with the 60 room Gateway Inn located at 1780 Sunrise Highway, just a quarter mile east of Meadowbrook Parkway in Merrick, Long Island. They are literally just a 5 minute car ride from the venue site and 6 minutes from the famed Freeport Nautical Mile.
