Re: 50 Date Van Halen Tour
Holy Smokes I have seen the slam on Woof, I would go on a limb and say by end tour he will be Down some Pounds.. Below is an email I sent to my Family members who have put up with my VH obsession for 30 Years.. Oddly most of my comments are of the same manor as most post. Anyway It was a Good show - And at 16 Years old, Little (oops I mean Big) Woofie did a good job..
After a 23 Year depart from Van Halen, David Lee Roth finally came back to his senses to rejoin The Van Halen Brother's with the addition of Wolfgang Van Halen (Ed's son and Alex's Nephew). My initial thoughts on this tour was simply a money thing and I wanted NO part of it. However as a early Christmas present Mom and Dad Leifheit surprised Heather and I with Tickets. So, were going and last night we made the trip to the show.
The opening band was a reggae band that I must say I enjoyed, but in the back of my mind thinking?? Hun, not a opening band I was expecting. Then they were done, and the Van Halen Mini-Air Blimps were out and my tummy was getting excited.
Then Out they came went through two songs, Dave gave Ed a hug.. And off they went. Not much talking at all they simply played the song's (That make the young girls cry). I was just taking it all in, and This being Heathers first METAL concert she had a good time as well.
The song list was picked out by Woof and a fine list it was, 23-25 of All the songs that made the die hard Van Halen fans, Van Halen Fans. There were a few songs where Dave forgot the words and actually said "I forgot the words to the F*&(ing song Man".. but to redeem his error in true front man style he covered it well. Dave, Ed and Alex for 50 years old plus are in Great shape. Woof is a little on the heavy side.
Ed's Guitar solo oddly enough I went to flip open my phone (back in the day it was a lighter) and I seen I missed a call from Bobby.. I called him and just as Bob said hello, I said Ed's just about to start his solo... Bob got to hear the whole thing..No idea how good he could hear it but non the less...
Alex Drum solo was the best one I have seen him do, And I have seen several..
Over all - The guys were all smiles and having a great time.. Woof even went up to Dad and slapped his strings while he was playing and Dad returned the favor. Woof even ran in to Ed and Ed pushed him and punched his arm, Just playing and having fun. How cool would it be for a kid to be Eddie Van Halen's son and play on the same stage.
If you get a chance I recommend you go see the show. Bob there in Green Bay this Saturday you buy I'll drive!!!!!!
- "come On Bob Give me a Break----hahaha One Break coming up" -
Thanks Dave and Renee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tom "Van Halen" 5150 Time..
