I'm mobile it the moment, so I believe he was using a
Musicman on Beacon for that song.
I'd have to review the video, but I'm pretty sure on that.
Thank you!!
I have another question. Where do you find the tabs of the studio version of Mountain Time
It's an Ernie Ball Musicman Dark Lord. It's a Steve Morse model, with reverse headstock and a differant colour. I'm not sure that it's a production guitar, so finding one might not be easy (if that's why you're asking).
As for tabs, Songsterr is a good place to check. Don't really know tabs sites these days, I don't use them much. (I miss the days of MXTabs )
I saw a darklord for sale in an german shop on instagram i belive

Hello, this is an old thread, but got a related question...
What's the sorta synth-like effect that Joe uses during Django on the Beacon performance?
I heard it also in the 2013 Guitar Center Blues Master rendition of John Henry, this silky, almost-flute/keyboard like sound that seems to weave in and out of his regular guitar sound... as I'm not familiar with pedals, perhaps it's one of many well-known sounds that you guys can help me to identify!
Thanks!
Apologies ... cable / elec out ... a snow shovel rest ... surfing via phone ... going by Beacon dvd memory ... believe Joe is doing a "volume swell" (turing the volume knob up and down with his pinky as he plays a note.)
Check out this short clip from Joe's Rockpalast dvd ...

(If I'm off with the answer to Beacon .. apologies .. but can't beat a Goldie clip!)
Hope everyone is gettng through the snow ok up here in the N East! ... Think Jane H's area got more than samjp4's!!

Definitely a volume swell. Enjoying the pictures from our Bonabuds in Snowed in New York.

Not sure on this one but I know when a Les Paul through Marshall amps goes to the neck or middle switch for pickups it has an incredibly flute like sound. Absolutely gorgeous. Just Check out some of Gary Moore's stuff like 'Still Got the Blues for You.' It was kind of his signature sound.
Best tone and sound ever swells and all. Sorry about the snow to the north east but unfortunately it will hit us tues/weds as gale force winds and heavy rain (again).
Power back on ... shovel down for the day ...
Put Beacon dvd on ... u can see Joe's pinky doing it's thing!!
(Think he explained his technique on his gear dvd from a few years back ... I'll see if there's a clip.)
Making a drink and going back to the begnning of Beacon ... at least the day ended well!!
(Good luck PSmith ... think I hate winds the most.)
