A 12 year-old 6th grader had the best bracket, but is under age to collect. I heard the 6th grader interviewed on ESPN and he said he didn't know how Villanova lost that game.  Believe me it felt like we lost by 30 points instead of 3 points.  Thumbs up to Jimmy Fallon for having the crying Villanova picollo band member on the Tonight show.  (took some pain away from the fans.)

CONGRATS! Love Coach K, he is a class act!  I liked both teams in the final, I was leaning towards Wisconsin mainly because their coach is a local guy and they hadn't come this far and Duke wins alot. It was a great game, just didn't like that one call towards the end that favored Duke. It looked like Duke touched it last. Wisconsin was wilting towards the end, game changing, probably not.

well they haven't exceeded my dreams.....yet. That would be a trip into the dance in March. Avery Johnson has already made a huge difference at Bama. After getting destroyed by Dayton and Xavier, the Tide bounced back with two great wins against Wichita State and Notre Dame. The talent is mediocre but at least Avery has them on the same page and playing together, the defense has looked like some Bama teams of old in these last two.
The last time Bama beat two ranked teams back to back was in 2006 vs #12 Florida and #8 Tennessee. There is hope.

Being an Aztecs fan has me turning grayer than I already am.
In the most exciting/aghast game I've ever seen, they kept the preposterous stat "games won with lead and clock less than 5 minutes" alive at now 161 games.
They can't shoot, do stupid things to give away leads, then turn on the defensive magic and crush for the win at the brink of death.

Rankings always make me feel the same way. My main team is #1, which is...hard to describe...with all the previous changes in the Big East and all the other great teams out there maybe playing in harder divisions.  Not to sound negative, just being realistic, I kinda' have to pinch myself when I see the rankings.

So, 2 of Philly's "Big 5" teams put on a show last night. Villanova beat Temple to a sold old and slightly hostile crowd. One of our freshmen, Jalen Brunson, had his best game ever with 25 points.  He was booed as soon as he walked onto the court, he turned down playing for Temple.  Brunson was pretty much booed the entire game, he never showed any emotion. His Dad went to Temple and played and also went on to play for several NBA teams. The hype was ridiculous leading up to this game. Both Temple and Nova won the 5 previous games.  Pretty much all of Philly was hoping for a big upset!!

And it looks like St. Joe's beat your Dayton team, it was a good win for St. Joe's. Sorry to you though...

Also, if anyone watched that Duke game last night, I cannot believe they pulled off that win!

My Aztecs continue the maddening inconsistency, winning nail biters, then losing to chumps. The only way they get to the tourney is by winning the conference tournament. They have a lock on the season but that handful of stupid outings....

Well, they were passed by the committee for the big dance. Earned a 2 seed in the NIT and went at it with spirit and a we'll show those guys on the committee we belonged attitude.
They proceeded to crush IPFW (hoodat), Washington, then Ga. Tech last night in a bruiser against those wide bodies from the ACC. They're off to Madison Square Garden for the semis and on. They could very well take it all down. Their #2 in the nation D has finally found them shooting as well.
Go Aztecs! Maybe playing with  Eastern exposure will get some respect.  I predict a final against an old rival, BYU.

Rocket might chime in. His Orangemen are still alive- from the bottom of the heap too.
