Topic: Long time no post!

Hey all, it's been a while, hope everyone's well! I find it ironic, most of the time I visit the forum now all I talk about is being away for too long...

Just a message to say hi, and to share something relevant for the first time in a while. Recently I haven't done much 'Solo Electric Guitar' stuff in ages as I've spent the past year leaving my old band and playing acoustic guitar in my latest group (more recently fiddle, total nightmare to figure out).

A friend of mine saw the advert for the Sky Arts Guitar Star competition recently, called me up urging me to apply, and offered to film it for me (lovely, right?). Anyway, after 3 years of playing clean, smooth jazz at university I wasn't sure if playing rock was my forte anymore, considering the only rock I'd been playing was in cover bands for the past couple of years, but I'm happy with how this turned out!

Let me know what you think guys, and if you hadn't heard about the competition yet and fany applying, do it! I'm not really an advocate for tv talent shows, but this was a 'why not' gesture, seeing as I have nothing to lose.

Really enjoyed that Rus.  Was it your own composition or a cover arrangement?  Anyway, wishing you the best of luck in the competition and DO keep us posted.  Are you planning any local gigs this way soon?
