Topic: Joe at "the Hammersmith @#$%^^&# Odeon" 17th March 2015

What a fantastic night!  When I get a chance I will post a few photos I took.

I loved how Joe incorporated Django into Oh Beautiful (Django is my favourite and the first Bona-track I learned to play on the guitar - I can play all versions from Y&M, LFNIP, RAH, BTNY and TDF).  Joe has continued to evolve.  I have heard new versions of old classics of his which, to me, seem to border on Prog Rock. As a gigantic David Gilmour fan, I love Prog but PLEASE JOE, don't go down that road! (Although, if you are reading this Mr. B, please invite Mr Gilmour to play with you as you did Mr. Clapton!).  Big shout out to Carmine, Tal and the rest of the band too!

This was my first Bona-gig and I enjoyed every minute and, I will be seeing Joe again when he next returns to London.  With regards to the setlist, one man's medicine is another man's poison.  I personally love the new set and find it in no way boring as was suggest in other topics.  I have seen RAH1, BTNY and the four TDF concerts and they serve as bars and he raises the bar with every concert.

If this is what Joe does when he has germs rampaging through his body like hordes of Visigoths invading Rome, imagine what it would be like if he were 100% well.

David Gilmour once said his guitar solos were affected by his frame of mind while playing the piece meaning that liver versions of Comfortably Numb could vary between 7 minutes (The Wall tour) to 12 minutes (P*U*L*S*E), does Joe find that his music is affected by his mood? Only Joe can answer that.

One thing I will say is REST!  Once this tour is over take some well earned R & R.  We love seeing you in concert and God knows when I saw you onstage last night I wanted to march down then and give you a mug of Lemsip.  By the end of the gig I though you were going to pass out as it looked like you faltered slightly just after Sloe Gin!

All the best

Danny

Thanks for the report. Hope Joe gets well. He is a trooper and rarely misses a gig due to illness.

I'll never understand why they did that.  It spoiled the CD's for me as they lost that concert feeling and Joe's comic turns in between songs.  I converted my DVD's to audio instead and uploaded them to my iPhone so now I have the same concerts with no fade.  I even separated the tracks.  I can only think they used a different company to do the TDF CD's than they did with Joe's other concerts.  I know LFNIP is a compilation of concert tracks from 2005-2008.

I actually dont mind it fading out on cd's cause it sounds kind of lame with cheering coming out of the car windows.
Now on the dvd/blu-ray i expect that since I'm watching a concert

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)
