Topic: Hammersmith 17th March

Went to the first of Joe's concerts at Hammersmith last night.
Think the set list was the same as at the Carre.
Look over yonders wall wasn't played but we were treated to guest appearance from Beth Hart.
Just the one song but such a powerful voice!
Joe alluded to having an ongoing chest infection which I think did affect his vocals slightly and possibly was also the reason for a truncated encore of just one song - think it was a Muddy/Wolf cover as I didn't recognise it.
The sound was excellent, loud but not excessive, bass, keyboards and even the horns (most of the time) were clearly audible along with the vocals and guitar from Joe.
I was in the stalls, towards the back, sadly quite a few empty seats but I think those with standing tickets were probably able to grab a seat if they wanted.
merchandise stall seemed busy and I think they were selling the Red Rocks CD and DVDS but hopefully someone else can confirm this.
Thanks Joe, hope the rest of the UK tour goes well.

I got a pick tin, tshirt and the new Muddy Wolf DVD.  A great concert but you could definitely tell Joe was ill.  His voice was as strong as ever but it did crack a few times.  Beth Hart is on her own tour so may not appear the other nights.  If that's so then that makes us extremely privileged.

Something tells me Joe needs to rest after this tour as at one point near the end of the night, he look like he stumbled as if he was gonna pass out.  But then that could be exhaustion as he absolutely put his heart and soul into every song.

I loved the new version of Oh Beautiful where Joe played Django in the middle.  When I figure out how I will upload some photos as I took over 400 photos!

Re: Hammersmith 17th March

Anyone have any information on the guitars Joe played last night?  I know the first one was his green signature "Bona-Bird" and the last one was his "Bona-burst" signature ES335.  There was also a 1954 hardtail Stratocaster.  I think it's the one he was photographed with on Facebook.  But the green Strat and the 2 Les Paul's?

I think the honeyburst was "Magellan" as it had the darker edge than "Principal Skinner".  Although I thought I read in an interview that "Magellan" and "Skinner" were retired?

I think he's been playing "The Runt" on the song "Double Trouble" on this tour. It's a 1960 and has that real reddish edge all around. It's the one he had with him on the cruise. And he recently tweeted a photo showing he had "Carmelita" with him. Looking at the videos from the Hammersmith, it looks like "Carmelita" was played on "Sloe Gin".
