gsj-Sometimes your wit escapes me roll You like Monty Python...Benny Hill? big_smile

I love old houses, old buildings with intricate detail, cool architecture...thought the photo in Guitarist of Shepherds was nice.  Found this info on it, glad to see that have preserved the building, lots of great musical history there.

Angela, it's a smelly horrible venue in a nasty part of town...full of drunks....or maybe I'm just getting old. Mind that toe!!!

gsj- VERY NICE effort on your part. I think a round of applause is in order!  smile It makes perfect sense that the UK would embrace Joe, with his British influences etc. I thought the Guitarist article "Blues Brothers" was excellent and I need to check Scott McKeon out!!  Actually, the entire issue was good...enjoyed reading about Chet Atkins, which of course reminds me of George. Also, the Shepherd's Bush looks like a wonderful venue with such a nostalgic aura of fine musicians! Do you know what year the venue was built and how many people does it hold?

My complexion is turning green Ges, maybe Mars is where Rocket needs to be...Any chance you could describe the first time YOU saw Free and what it was like to your bloodstream?

Did Joe mention the first time he saw Free?! I speed read that with an implication of it being at a concert, and it's been bugging me ever since (I always have a high tonnage of tuneage info going through my eyepods always, so....was there some kind of regrouping that I never knew, or did anyone else think he might have meant Bad Company? I can get so confused sometimes with my terrible short term memory...

P.S. There's no way Joe saw Paul Kossoff, so maybe he just meant "heard" them (and that's what I actually read & just screwed up)?!

I saw them live !!  smile

Re: Guitarist magazine !

The Shepherds Bush Empire could be a great venue but, in my humble opinion smile, they need to close the bars in the auditorium and 'police' the drunks that ruin the night for those that have gone to see the show. Guitar Techniques magazine.....to be honest I totally forgot to see what was going on.....I'll check it out asap.

Re: Guitarist magazine !

Today I picked up a copy of Guitar Techniques. In the "Next Month" section (for the september issue) I noticed that they will feature a Play Like Joe Bonamassa article with the subtitle "Astounding young blueser!" tongue
I guess I'll be buying next months issue (september) as well then smile
