Topic: RIP Andy Fraser

I write this with a heavy heart. Andy passed away on Monday morning. Those that know me well know how much Free have meant to me since their first album.

In addition to his songwriting and bass playing, I will always remember him bopping about on stage. He will now join Koss again.

Re: RIP Andy Fraser

Joe is dedicating his Hammersmith shows to Andy. What a great gesture. He probably heard the sad news about his friend about 30 minutes before stage time.

Re: RIP Andy Fraser

Very sad, sad

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: RIP Andy Fraser

Really sad. Great musician.

Re: RIP Andy Fraser

Here's the last time I saw him. Sitting in with Joe and Petty Breakers at Belly Up in a Hurricane Sandy benefit. I'll always remember his talent. RIP. Three song special set I shot with It's Good to be King, Mr. Big, and All Right Now which Andy wrote.  Heavy heart today. Damn! It truly sucks to see your heroes slip away as the days go by. sad

I'm with you Kenny. Free were a huge part of my young life and I was listening to the music just yesterday strolling around the town in the sunshine.

I knew a reunion was never going to be on but while they were still around (with Koss' exception of course) hope sprang eternal. I was reading just the other day an interview with Chris Spedding who founded 'Sharks' with Andy after Free finally collapsed and it brought it all back. I saw Sharks several times 'back in the day'. They never made it but the musicianship was of such a high standard.

Free's music is as rich today as it was back then. They were so so young and sooo talented.

Never will 'Oh I wept' have more resonance than today.

RIP Andy
