Re: Question for Epiphone JB owners......

forgive me for reviving what might seems to be a dead thread, but I've had the Pelham blue jb model for about a month now. I play it thru a stereo rig of 2 mesa combos. In all honesty, I consider it a thick, fat blues beast that can purr just as well as it can roar. Very very pleased with it.
In all these wonderful contributions you've all given to this thread, I guess I feel of the same mind with misthunter210 in that it doesn't have to say Gibson on the headstock to have a good Gibson tone. I've had 3 Gibbys in the past, ranging in tone from impressive to somewhat  of a joke. However, when it comes to the more expensive Epis, I try to look for no weight relief, deep set neck, fret edge smoothness, and Gibson pickups (even though installing aftermarket pickups is not a big deal). I have to be honest and say price is a factor, as it is with most of us nowadays. Otherwise, I'd be all over the new 2015 GLP traditional. But in all this rambling, I guess the biggest compliment you can give an instrument is: does it inspire you to pick it up over and over and play it til the wheels fall off. And the Epi jb does that in spades. Thank you all again for all your informative in put.

Re: Question for Epiphone JB owners......

Congrats on picking one up. I was going to grab one but with the info that a BonaBird is coming soon, I decided to wait. I want to see how much the damage would be for it.  Glad your enjoying the JB.
