Hey Montreal!!! A few of us are coming from Kingston for the Friday night show. Can you recommend any hangouts in the  area, for a pre concert beverage?

Re: Montreal Concert

U'll be on St Catherine Street .. need I say more? .. lol

If it's any help .. I would always frequent two spots (that I can mention) when in town

1/ The Old Dublin Pub (Le Vieux Dublin) on Cathcart (15 min walk)
From the venue .. go west on St Catherine, turn left on Union Ave, right (oops) on Cathcart
(if u pass the EATON Center on St Catherine .. u've gone too far)

2/ Peel Street Pub (30 min walk from the venue)
From the venue .. go west on St Catherine, turn left on Peel

If u google map search each place .. u can actually walk right into each establishment .. lol

Have an awesome time eh!

Cheers! cool

The BonaMaritimer .. All Dials To The Right!

Re: Montreal Concert

Thanks Buzzy!!Yes, yes the infamous St Catherine Street. People have ventured and never came back!! I am sure we will find something, I was hoping that some Bonamonster like fans would be meeting somewhere before the concert. Always nice to meet like minded people.

Rock on eh!

Montreal Friday Apr. 10, oh yeah!  You guys are welcome to join the 4 of us, we are meeting at 3 Brasseurs (3 Brewers) Pub @ 5pm. for pre-concert drinks and BonaHype!  It is close to the venue. Greg & I (Al) are meeting Isabelle & her brother there…..we chat & frequent BonaNation on Facebook, if you want to check that out too.
Hey Buzzy, how are you doin' bud ! Did you get that car you were in love with? You can tell him what a great time we had in TO last tour smile   Hope your coming to Montreal too.
Let me know how many of you are coming and I will have Isabelle up the count for our reservation.
We will most likely go to JoJo's Blues bar after….Tal & Carmine showed up there one year! , but if they do again I would expect it to be on Thurs. after the 1st show…..
Only 4 days to go, we can't wait smile  I'll check back here on Tues. & Thurs    Cheers

Re: Montreal Concert

We've decided on NYKS Bistro Pub, rue de Bleury (corner Ste Catherine)
Looks like a good spot.  Looking forward to Friday nights concert and spending a few days in lovely Montreal.

Re: Montreal Concert

you lucky 'dogs' in Montreal.. get 2 concerts of Joe.

How many of you are going to both?

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

Re: Montreal Concert

It's all good Harry,  join us if you can we'll be there from 5 until show time. As I said it's close to Place des Arts, and it won't be hard to pick us out, wearing our DSofBlue Street Team shirts! …..or maybe we can plan to meet after, outside the main entrance

Re: Montreal Concert

Hi Doug, come join us Friday!    we had a great time at the Tilted Kilt, Cheers Al

Re: Montreal Concert

and yes Buzzy I'll send ya some photos

Re: Montreal Concert

Would love to but Montreal is too far away from my office, I have my newbie Jr looking after things this weekend and I'm really trying hard to get to London's show this Sat..
think I'm at 92% chance unless work mess' something up on me.
if London is a go I should be at Fitzray's across the street around 5:30pm

Re: Montreal Concert

Hi to you all!!! I had never heard of joe B before 2 weeks ago!!!! My 68 year old mom happened to watch a concert on tv while a snow mobile getaway in Chicoutimi. She came back home asking me about this artist. Did a search on YouTube, and was stunt to hear his music, coincidentally, he was coming to Montreal! Bought tickets of course, so we are new fans! So
We're at the show tonight! Yeah!

Say big thanks to your mom. You discovered one of the currently best artists in the world!
I discovered him only a few years ago while running and listening to a radio on my cellphone. He really knows what the blues is. I bought the tickets about six months ago and was hardly waiting the show which was incredible.
I suppose you were delighted, as probably all in the audience were.
If you can find his Amsterdam, Amsterdam video with Beth Hart or any of four London shows (my favorite is Shepherd's Bush), buy them. This is the mastery!!!
