Topic: August 11th Three Kings date moved?

I see RI PBS is now talking about the 8/11 show that had been billed at the Newport Yachting center is now moved to the Cape Cod Melody Tent.

I have passes for the show, but I'm not excited about having to go to Hyannis in August. Reviews tend to say that all the seats are good, but since this is a round tent with a revolving stage, it seems you're destined to see the back of the performer for half the show, and the sound quality is said to be bad. (at least from one review)

I'm tempted to defer usage of my passes to another show next year, even though it will mean missing out on the three kings tour. Has anyone seen a show there that can add perspective? thanks

I'm seeing him the next day in Bangor, hope that does not change.  I'll be watching his PBS show Wednesday night, I'll look for any info they might offer.

Re: August 11th Three Kings date moved?

I already have a ticket for Bangor, I can't decide whether to try and do this show, too.  The driving doesn't bother me but I don't want to be too tired to enjoy the shows.  I might wait and see what I can get for a ticket.  Truthfully I am just about done with PBS tickets - seem to get worse every time, so I usually buy one as insurance and end up giving it away.

I haven't been to one of these theaters-in-the-round for years, but my memories of past shows aren't all that bad.  The revolving stage can actually be kind of interesting.  Since it is a weeknight on the Cape even though it is summer the traffic probably won't be too crazy.

There is quite a group of us going to Bangor - come along for the fun.  It's a long ride but beautiful country.

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.
