And the lighting sucked on that stage, too. Spinnaker's Lounge wasn't much better for lighting, but at least it didn't have the big screen.  The screen was great when bands weren't playing and they had slide shows of snapshots going on it.

There were people scrambling to get them from the bands, but I didn't get any. Also, I was unfamiliar with their work and didn't know the song names. Sorry.

JD Simo Great player with a lot of energy and intensity and a real sweet guy. A trick to track him on the stage, glad he was somewhat contained by the small stage, lol. Better singing voice than quite a few we heard. He did an absolutely killer version of "With A Little Help From My Friends". It really was phenomenal. His last song "Love Light" even had Roy Weisman up and dancing. Fun to see smile

so how hard was it getting to the front of the stage's to get your videos?
did you have to "camp" out for a couple of hours before a show?

I would think with a couple of thousand people getting to the stages was kind of tricky.


(BTW when does Natasha's official DVD come out for us to purchase on from this cruise trip?)

Doug, you are too funny smile We did have to camp out somewhat for a few hours prior for Joe's shows and we would take turns holding spots so others could go eat or to the bathroom. Some of the other acts required queing up around an hour or so beforehand. Luckily there was a group of us - Cathy, Maggie, Lydia (Maggie's cousin), Isabelle ( a sweet woman we met at our hotel prior to the cruise who hung out with us the whole time), Patty, Anne. So some would arrive first and hold spots for others. Just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for doing this, because otherwise I never would have been able to get such wonderful footage. There were so many acts playing and their times overlapped so we would have to rush to the next one pretty quickly. Wish the schedule had been done a bit differently so that there was a little bit of space between the end of one and the beginning of another.

I thought the rooms were nice. We had a mini suite. Cathy bunked with us and slept on the pull out sofa. There were two single beds, a sofa and a desk with 2 small chairs, plus a balcony. The bathroom was a nice size and had a tub with the shower. I felt it was plenty of space for all 3 of us especially when Cathy's bed was back as a sofa. And we really didn't spend much time in it, too busy seeing music.

I'm kind of shocked nobody has written on the forum anything about their experience. There were over 2300 people on board, you would think somebody might want to share a story or two.

I must say Natasha you and Phil spend so much time and energy filming it seems you can't enjoy the show? I am sure you do and I am sure I speak for all we really appreciate the vids.

Robben Ford is not a fan of cameras and security were telling a few people to put theirs away so I filmed in stealth mode, (held the camera low and close in to my body) and the guy in front of me kept moving around, so needless to say these are not top notch, but they are fine and the lighting at that Stardust Theatre was beautiful.

We only got back to the UK today and due to jet-lag and returning to work tomorrow, too little time and too little brain capacity to put much together that is meaningful yet.

What I would say for now is the trip was one of a lifetime, we met so many wonderful people and enjoyed fantastic music in great surroundings. Watching some of your videos has been enjoyable to briefly re-live some of it, thank you for all your hard work in putting everything together, even if I was amazed how you managed to secure front row for virtually every show - dedication whilst some of us were eating in the fine restaurants I guess!

I'll post up some of my photos when I get chance, perhaps at the weekend.

Now to consider how the hell we can save up for part II next year....

Rocky, this is a GREAT review, even though you question your own ability to "put much together that is meaningful yet."  Your comments (limited) are as meaningful as can be (unlimited) meaningful! smile

Photos at you leisure, and maybe read the other posters comments and comment more, or comment on the video(s) at YouTubes (especially) or wherever you seen them, Faceblotch or whatever tags your hash... big_smile

It all builds interest, excitement, and nostalgia, which are all primary primers for another cruise next year or/and thereafter.

Having recovered from the jet lag, I have followed Phil from Maryland's advice and joined the forum and am making this first post. We met Phil and Natasha in the queue (line!) waiting to have our photo taken with Joe on the Thursday, and like everyone else on board, it was a pleasure to meet them. It was such a fantastic 4 days that it would take ages to recount it all but the main takeaways we have from the trip are:

1: Seeing Joe and all the other artists in such a close intimate location with great views, standing wherever we wanted was a unique experience

2: Being on a ship full of like minded music lovers created a wonderful atmosphere. Everyone we spoke to was enthusiastic and friendly.

3: The organisation of the event by Sixthman in our opinion was exemplary. Nice touches such as the gifts of posters, KTBA towels, sunglasses, key rings, calendars etc each night left in our rooms was fun.

4: We expected the JB sets to be the highlights, and they were, but discovering new bands and then seeing Joe guest and jam with them was awesome. Joe worked hard throughout to make the whole experience magical.

5: Unexpectedly getting into the elevator with Joe and not knowing what to say except a slightly embarrassed Hi!! (We are English after all!)

We have lots of photo's and some videos, but nothing in Natasha's league so will not bother posting as she has done such a brilliant job.

This was our first ever JB gig but will not be our last! We now cannot wait to see the next gig in our home city of Leeds to experience the full stadium set.
