Topic: Don't Bin Tin Pan Alley!

Not sure how many of you have already signed this but it needs about 7,500 more signatures to reach the goal.

Basically, here's the story:

Denmark Street, commonly known as Tin Pan Alley, is London's iconic street of music shops and clubs.
It has been home to London's independent music stores since the 1950s and has been the beginning of some of the most famous acts in rock history.

- The Rolling Stones recorded their first album at Regent Sounds Studio at No. 4 Denmark Street
- The Gioconda café at No. 9 was a popular social bar and club for David Bowie (who recruited his first backing band here) and members of the Small Faces
- The Sex Pistols lived above No. 6 and recorded their first demos here
- In 1964, The Kinks with Jimmy Page on guitar and Jon Lord on piano, recorded "You Really Got Me" in one of the basement studios

Now, the businesses and some of the buildings are under threat from redevelopment, as part of "Crossrail" - a new London underground railway/subway. We need to help the petition so that this vital piece of music history is not lost.

I know for a fact that Joe has shopped in Denmark street on many occasions and Anthony Macari (of Macaris Guitars) is often saying how brilliant it is to have Joe Bonamassa as a customer.

So it's important to music that this street is saved. As a London blues musician, I'd be grateful if we could save this street.
