Topic: Raleigh Show Last Night
Last night was my second Joe Bonamassa experience, and it was even better than the first. A few months ago when I saw this Raleigh gig posted, I called my buddy who went with me the first time to see if he wanted to go again. Of course the answer was yes. I then recruited a couple others to go. I told them it would be an experience to remember. Needless to say they weren't disappointed.
We got there early so we would get good seats, and we got to sit on the front row. Another benefit of showing up so early was that I got to say hi to my old friend Bogie before the show which was nice. Let me also say that Crosby Loggins is a very talented musician in his own right.
Joe and the band put on a fantastic show, even though Bogie told me they all had serious jet lag from playing in Russia on Sunday. The addition of the keyboard player really fills out the sound, and Carmine is a monster on the bass. We met everyone but Joe after the show, and I must say that they were all extremely nice. Well, I've known Bogie for 16 years, and I'll say it again, he's probably the nicest guy I've ever known and by far the best drummer I've ever seen live, and I feel honored that I got to share a stage with him oh so many years ago.
The highlight of the night for me was about 45 minutes to an hour after the show was over. Me, the three people I came with, a friend of one of the guys I came with who also happens to be a friend of Bogie's, Crosby Loggins, and Bogie standing out in front of the building by the street shooting the breeze.
One of the young ladies I convinced to go last night actually called me this morning and said "I just wanted to say thank you again for getting me to go last night. I feel like I witnessed something amazing. I was literally blown away." We've already been talking about finding another opportunity to see them again as soon as possible.
