Topic: Clearsonic Plexi Baffle on the way...

Hey there, I've decided to order a shield and sorber for my Two Rock 1x12 combo.
I had discussions with soundmen all my life and now I just want to stop this, but not only live also in the rehearsal room I want to push my amp to get sweet break up sounds, without interfering and annoying the band members :-)

Whom of you has experiences with the shields? I am really excited. My plan is to set it up in form of a \/ in front of the amp.

The sorbers will be set up behind the amp, as it has an open back.

Hi, I got a Clearsonic A3-2 more than a year ago. A3 is just the right size for a half-stack and the 2 stands for the two shields to create the V shape in front of the amp. For a 1x12 combo I guess A2 is the right size, so you should get a A2-2 model. Best thing is to ask before you buy. Or have a look here http://www.clearsonic.com/csp.htm
All I can say is I should have got that Clearsonic shield much earlier. It solved all the volume issues in rehearsal rooms and small live venues without compromising your tone. It really works. Well worth the investment. Of course, it means one more item drag around and set up.

The shield are awesome. I also suggest you get a set of Great Grandmas to sit the cabs on. Does wonders to get rid of the low frequency rumble. They are made by Auralux you will be glade you did

Thanks a lot for your input. I have ordered the A2 plus the S2 sorbers. Really looking forward to receiving them in the next days. I ws torn between attenuation and baffle, but I couldn't compromise on the beautiful tone of my amp.

Funny you mention, have ordered the Auralex great gramma v2 for our bass player, so I can try it too and decide whether to get one also for myself.

It's fun bring a plexi shield and GRAMMAs to gigs, because the sound guys know you're serious about sounding good, and I think they step up their game compared to the other bands on the bill. big_smile

The baffle, the sorbers and the Gramma arrived yesterday.
Tried it out during the rehearsal and it is a wonderful addition to my setup. I kept the sorbers away as they turned out to be too heavy in enhancing the bass frequencies when out behind the amp. However, the Plexi baffle sounds awesome and it does a perfect job in letting me dial in the breakup sound without killing my band colleagues. I can not detect any big changes in sound - in fact it sounds perfect. Our bass player uses the Gramma and the improvement is incredible - well sorted frequencies and no more mud.

I use the Gramma at home and in the studio. Been considering a plexi shield for a long time. I don't play that loudly, and I am very conscientious of the mix, but singers will always be primadonas and complain that everyone is too loud.
