Topic: "Other Artists" vs. "General Topics"...

2 recent posts to "General Topics" that mention CDs which Joe contributed to (Frank Viele's "Fall Your Way" and Randy Bachman's "Heavy Blues") both had comments stating these posts shoud be in "Other Artists".  I don't know about everyone else but I disagree.  Anything which Joe performs on should be posted here ("General Topics").  I am always interested in these CDs and would miss this information since I only check this thread.  Although I already knew about Randy Bachman's CD (and will definitely be purchasing it), I had no idea of Joe being on Frank Viele's CD (I have never even heard of him).  If Joe has nothing to do with these artists then those posts should go to "Other Artists".  Agree, disagree?  I'm curious...

I agree. I was the one that made that comment and now, re reading it, see the reference to Joe. Mea culpa. Maybe the header could have mentioned Joe's collaboration?

I'll second that. I'm sure the comments were well intentioned - after all, this is probably the best self-regulating website around - but if the topic is Joe related in any way I think it's ok for it to be posted in General Topics.

I'd agree that a guest appearance from Joe definitely makes another artist's album worthy of mentioning in General topics. As John rightly says, posting such information direct to Other Artists might mean that many would be unaware of another addition to Joe's expanding list of guest appearances. He's a man who's much in demand. wink

It's a valid point and I made a comment too. Saw the thread as a duplicate of what is in other artists already.With a lot of Joe's appearances on different artist I don't find fault with the mention showing up in General Topics.But not sure if we need two seperate threads about the same thing.Not sure what the bestt answer is?Not that it's a big deal to me personally either way.

When I was on Randy's site looking to see where he was touring.
I spotted that Joe played on a track (well if Kevin was producing makes sense)
but I started the Randy thread in Other Artists, just because I figured that's were it belonged.

As John says this is truly General Joe stuff in this thread. Other artists is for other artists unless specifically tied to Joe as both mentions here were. No flag thrown. Play on.

I really am not too ticky tacky here as someone said this forum pretty much moderates itself 99% of the time. Makes my job easy. Thanks.
