Topic: Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea reports (start page 6)

I can't believe it's almost time!! smile From my past experiences on the Blues Cruise, I thought I'd pass along a few things I've learned. I'm also wondering who's doing any of the excursions.
Theme nights are: Tues: Mardi Gras  Weds: Vintage concert tee shirts  Thurs: Blues Brothers  Fri: Woodstock. They aren't mandatory, but they can be fun.
There is limited storage, so pack smartly. Nothing formal needed and don't bring your giant suitcase. Also, your photo will be taken as you board, and those pics will be posted for purchase, so brush your hair and look sharp! lol
The first thing that will happen once everybody is on the ship is the fire drill. Find your life vests and your assigned life raft locale. It's easier if you're ready wink

For those that are susceptible to mal de mer, ginger is effective for many. It can be had in capsule form at health food stores. Ginger ale also works, even better when combined with a form of alcohol. wink Have fun folks. Ginger is ineffective for the spouse so we await the reports.

How many of you are bringing guitars? I was thinking about bringing one and a small battery powered Yamaha amp.

Can you fedex it to Miami for pickup at a fedex location?

The anticipation is starting to get to me. I think its getting to my lovely wife worse, she wants to go right now! This should be a real blast!

Re: Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea reports (start page 6)

I can't help but feel jealous of the financial freedom some of you seem to have. Have a amazing time, Bonamassa, Robben Ford, Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, Ryan McGarvey, Hiatt, Simo and more. What an INCREDIBLE lineup and what an amazing vessel that liner is. Absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to see some pictures and video's of it afterwards and something tells me that there will be plenty!

Re: Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea reports (start page 6)

Luckily, I'm close enough to drive. I just worry about leaving it in the room unattended. Not sure how safe that is, this is our first cruise. Gotta start out right smile

Re: Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea reports (start page 6)

First chance I've had to get back here since I posted the schedule! So darned excited I can't stand it!! It says there will likely be some schedule changes there are some definite overlaps that I hope will be adjusted. I'm really looking forward to seeing Joanne Shaw Taylor and one set is opposite Kirk Fletcher & Josh Smith and her other set is opposite Robben Ford!!! Ryan McGarvey overlaps with the last half of John Hiatt?? Can't wait to see the Artist Jam with all these amazing musicians on board it will be incredible. I FINALLY get to see Rock Candy Fund Party and Ded Nugent has a set too! This really is going to be an one a great week of live music. Hope Natasha and Phil have plenty of memory and battery power for recording wink;)

I've been on a cruises before and I've never had anything disturbed in my room, not to say it couldn't happen? At least on a ship as long as you keep your door locked if someone did get in they wouldn't be able to get too far without being seen by a camera to see who did it and where they went. I know I saw there is one or two clinics going on so you players may want to have them onboard smile
