Topic: Brian May - Bonamassa Fan

Searched, didn't find an old topic. I finally got caught up on all the old episodes of the Eddie Trunk podcast, and was listening to his Brian May interview (August 7th, 2014).  Eddie asked about guitar players that still catch his ear after all these years.  As you'd expect, he talks about some legends like Jeff Beck, Tony Iommi, etc.

Then he says: "Joe Bonamassa is incredible, you know, he makes my heart skip a beat."  The only "modern" player he mentions.

Pretty cool!

Re: Brian May - Bonamassa Fan

Yes, I heard that! I've been a big fan of Brian May and his guitar tone, going back to the 70's. He's a very smart guy, he made his famous guitar with his father when he was a teenager, and he has a PhD in Astrophysics. And he says JB is incredible, so its clear he has good taste!

Not that we need any further confirmation, but isn't it great when we hear of another respected guitarist giving praise to Joe?

Most people don't know that Queen actually did a real Blues tune, Sleeping on the Sidewalk, written and sung by Brian May.
